The location is the best as it is at the centre of all the places of interests. You can walk to cruise terminal, Sultanahmet, Ayasofya, Topkapi Palace, etc. There are many variety of restaurants in this area ranging from expensive to inexpensive. The Wifi is great. The owner and the staff were extremely friendly. They helped you to carry the lugguges to/from the third floor. We felt very at home by staying in this hostel unlike other places where the owner tried to sell you tour packages. If y.
all reviews » Hotel Staff: - Mustafa the hotel manager is a very helpfull young man with good english, he answer any question you may have and give you any info regarding places and how to get to tourist attraction. - We put note when book the hotel to have lower ground floor as we can't climb the stairs too high and Mustafa did give us the lowest floor he have. Hotel Facilities: - Room was clean and looks new with shared but clean toilet and large shower room. - Shared kitchen for anyone making free tea and. Superb location - unbeatable - on a side street in the heart of the old town, so all the benefits of location but not noisy. Very clean. Really wonderful staff - they welcomed us like family and were so lovely to my 4 year old daughter and I. Great bed - I slept so well! The Yeni is a few minutes walk to Topkapi Palace and Haghia Sofia and the Blue Mosque are just beyond. There is a brilliant park, Gulhane Park, between the Yeni Hostel and Topkapi Palace, and we were there in April for the Tu. If you are looking for cheap, clean and accommodating place to crash only a short stroll away from all the touristy things and the tram then Yeni is the place for you. Situated in Sultanahmet, close to the port and main tramline, walking distance from Gülhane Park with museums, Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. District is fully safe, even at night. I liked having my own room at a very reasonable price. Hostel was quiet, I mean inside, no parties or herds of party people around. Everything was extra clean and safe in the building. The hostel is a nice place to stay in that area with the cheapest rates and a great staff that will guide you in anyway if you have questions regarding the place you are, or the city in general. The staff specially Firdevs was very friendly and helpful. Firdevs spoke English very well and went to extra lengths to direct us to major sites and tips and tricks to enjoy our visit to the max. This hotel now has Air Conditioning fittted to over 50% of rooms and we were given all Air Conditioned rooms on request. We were also given all three rooms on first floor which was an added bonus. The location of the hotel was perfect and near to two tram stations (Gulhane & Sirkeci) and also has a 5-10 minutes walking distance to Blue Mosque/Hagia Sofia/Topkapi Palace and all other main heritage sites plus transportation stations (metro/ferry) The hotel representatives were very friendly and helpful. People looking for budget rooms, this hotel is one of the economically preferable. Rooms were clean and had enough space as per the requirements. I sometimes stay overnight in transit in Istanbul and this hotel is a 200m walk away from the Metro at Gulhane amongst the many shops and the North Shields bar where I can get a beer and watch the football. There is a drop off service available to Ataturk airport at 5 euros so all in all this hotel is a wonderfully located budget friendly hotel with fantastic old style decor. Perfect location, room and bathroom very clean, tea and coffee at any time, excellent value for money...but the best of all, the personal...Mustafa and his family have been really good hosts, helpful and kind. In winter room was comfortably warm and water in the shower was hot. The hostel was extremely clean!! Pretty roomy considering I got an upgrade without requesting it. The own of the hotel is very nice and the position is near the center of old city. It is really suitable for the single travel. Its location is fine for tenants to go everywhere by transportation. They had coffee and tea for free of charge all day long. None. None but lift to get to the higher floor would be nice. Currently there is a construction site behind the hostel to build the so called Marmaray connection with a tunnel under Bosporus to connect Europe and Asia. Though working on 3 shift every day it is not too noisy and good isolated. Construction work should be accomplished latest September this year. There is no elevator, it did not disturb me, but one should take it into consideration e.g. if she is on the 4th floor. There is no air conditioning, but fan is provided. It is really OK for this price. No microwave in the kitchen and the oven didn't work. Maybe a bit noisy, but one has to know that Istanbul itself is rather noisy with a lot of constructions and renovations these days. Don't look for extra facilities (like TV, own toilette or shower, balconies, fridge, etc), but it is by far the cheapest option in the centre (including Beyoglu area) where rooms are kept tidy. difficult stairs for elderly peo NOTHING. Clear audibility of what's going on in the corridor. Some rooms have wash stand, some do not. Depending on who I asked information about getting around or seeing different sites was not always reliable or available, grant it there was somewhat of a language barrier. Nothing. There is a metro station being built right outside the hotel. Construction work is 24/7, so if you find it hard to fall asleep I would avoid staying there. There is no lift in a 5 storey building, so keep this is mind. Bathrooms are shared, but slippers are provided. I can't think of anything I didn't like. There is nothing to complain considering the price. The construction behind the Hostel, it can be disturbing. A little bit worm room during the night. Noise. The street was a bit noisy so it was difficult to sleep with the window open. The only thing was not good, i got the room at top floor and there was no lift...once u come back spending day its a bit tiring to climb up , but if u get a room on starting floors that would be great. * Construction work on the building next to the hostel * No air condition. Nothing to be consider as dislike. There should be more furniure in the room. Noises from the construction outside the building.
