We stayed at Palita Lodge during the April 2013 Full Moon. The resort is located on the quieter end of the beach, and on nights other than the full moon, its only a short 5 minute walk from all the excitement. The full moon event occurs along the complete stretch of the beach, however the resort stays quiet and secure. The beach in front of the Hotel is maintained by Palita Lodge and therefore, it is very clean and tidy, unlike the southern end of the beach. The sand in front of the hotel is al.
all reviews » We choose palita on the strength of the reviews booking and we were not dissapointd . The location is brilliant right on haad right beach the quieter at night part of the beach but a few mins walk from the party end aswel . The staff are excellent always willing to help wit the booking of tours etc. and overall anything you want to do on koh phan ngan . The rooms are clean always and a good size and the air con works excellent which is needed in Thailand. I would defiantly stay here again if I . Superb location on a beautiful beach with nice soft white sand. This is also the beach with all the top bars/clubs. But the strand didn't get too crowded during the day while we were there. The hotel manicures the beach every morning. The hotel also has a very attractive pool. The view from the room was outstanding. Food was very, very good and came with reasonable prices. Situated on paradise beach with soft white sand and clear turquoise waters. Location was perfect just a short stroll to nightlife, restaurants, bars and shops. Most staff were welcoming and friendly. The large skylight above the bed create a bright room, however if you like a morning sleep in, be sure to bring an eye patch. Aside from this, the rest of the hotel is top quality. The power went out complety in the resort on around five occasions over the ten days for a few minutes a minor annoyance but it wouldn't deter me from returning . The club far down the beach called Cactus booms bowl-shaking bass with a fast,never-changing beat into the late night. Hard to sleep through. There was not a safe in the rooms, we had to leave our valuables with the reception in a communal safe box. Although they were fine we would have felt more comfortable knowing they were in a safe box in our room. Food could also be improved. Although the pool and area is nice, The pool was very dirty! I understand its very shaded with trees so leaves are likely but der was greengage on tiles and scum on water! Dey had been puttin a lot of chlorine in we wer stinking only used once!. Cost of rooms a little excessive, but thats what you pay these days to stay somewhere so nice I suppose. None. Not much: a few things like the reception closing quite early but that's us just being fussy really. All in all a lovely place to stay!. Honestly... Nothing. unfortunatelly it's too loud in the night even not during fool moon party. still there are lots of party goes on the beach and the music stops only at 5 a.m. You have a feeling that you try to sleep near the stage. the a\c was weak did not cool the room. took them 1 day to fix it and after they did it was just a bit better. they left the electricity on tho with spare key. on days when full moon party is going on it is very noisy! ask for a room in the back (not beach or pool side). Every little thing cost extra- a glass of ice is 5 baht, its not the money but the idea to charge someone for ice that is staying in your hotel... The pool deck was undergoing some construction, there were about 15 sun beds around the pool and about double the people. We had some ants in our bathroom, but as soon as we asked they came to deal with it. Daily allowance of one beach towel per day No safety box. Absolutely nothing that I did not like. The first thing I was given was a long list of rules and fines. But I guess that's their way of dealing with all the drunken vandals coming in at full moon. No safe in the room. You have no phone to call a room service, and it rain a lot, but it´s just a detail. Loved this place. Haad Rin in a little bit far from the rest of the island and the street to reach the village is tricky. Be sure to rent a 125cc scooter!h. Coming home. Bar restrant closed very early. That I had to leave. The prices are high especially if you need a suit with 2 bedrooms. To much time til the food was ready , every time. Nothing. From 10 pm untill 3-4 am (even at no full moon) very loud sound (bass) from the beach disco's (Cactus). the hotel is nice and not more. standarts room, little bugs sometime enter the room. doesnt worth the money. we expect for more. There are no safety boxes in the room! U have to leave ur important stuff at the reception! Reception is closed at night. Small bathroom and shower. Breakfast is served not a buffet and you can choose only one type of food.
