Zermatt was the first place we visited in Switzerland and it was the best experience we had in Swiss. The hotel is 10 mins walk from the station and we were very tired as we were travelled to Zermatt from Paris and also we had lot of luggage to carry from Station to hotel. But once we looked at our room we were Soo excited. We stayed in room #15 which had a balcony and awesome view of matterhorn. The management was really friendly. When we asked for suggestions about hiking plan as we arrived, the counter(maybe the hostess) gave us very useful information, to adjust our schedule, and let us have very excellent experience in Zermatt. 2. I really love their restaurant! When I get up, with a very nice breakfast in a cozy and clean place, made me a great start of every day when I stayed there (My room is also clean and cozy J). 3. The room with Matterhorn view is really nice, I can just stay in bed and see the Matterhorn s. The hotel was great, a little away from the main street, so quieter. The manager was very helpful in sorting out our needs. The room was clean and had it's own balcony looking towards the Matterhorn. Breakfast was buffet style with substantial choice. Just about everything is within walking distance. A great place to stay. Really pleasant and peaceful stay in an authentic Swiss chalet. The guests can use a swimming pool in a neighbor hotel for free. Dufour is a traditional chalet in the quietest part of town, yet only a few mins walk from the attractions. Room 14 on the 3rd floor had balcony & magnificent Matterhorn view - even from the BED!! Breakfast pleasant in a friendly atmosphere. Excellent glazing and no noise at night. We loved this hotel. It was so immaculate & clean. The location was perfect with an amazing view of The Matterhorn. The breakfast had a wonderful selection of bread, cheese, meat, eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal & nuts. We would love to return someday. Despite just staying one night I got a lift to the train station by the hotel manager himself. Great breakfast with a lot of choice. Very good value for money.
