A taxi from the area of the Prado took us to this airport area hotel, the Axor Feria, a sister to its more elegant sister hotel right next door. Taxi cost was 23.35 euro (we had two carryons and two back packs). Be aware it’s a long drive, more so with heavy commute traffic so allow time. You need to go to the sister hotel next door for real food. This one, decorated in ultra modern, has vending machines for snacks and umpteen types of coffee. There is a huge mall about four blocks away with mo.
all reviews » This hotel was located very near the airport and has a great shuttle service. Also a 5 minute walk and you are at a bus stop that takes you to the metro station. The rooms were very clean, the hotel smelled wonderful and the breakfast was good. We stayed there our 1st night in Madrid and booked it again for our last 2 nights in Madrid. Our son stayed our late one night and it's about a 20 euro taxi ride from downtown Madrid to the hotel. first I want to share that I stayed at this hotel several times and never have found anything to dislike, and secondly how to not feel well when after a long trip by plane when open room's door and find a fresh fruit plate for you , and how not to feel good when find at the reception sometimes a person who speak your national language (not an international language). Axor can provide a lesson of what true professional hospitality mean. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. With this price, this is perhaps the best hotel in Madrid. Also if you have early morning flight, then this could be your ideal location as they have free shuttle bus service. I took their bus from the hotel at 4:30 and it was on time. This is actually a combination of two hotels. If you need a coffee at late night, you can go to their sister hotel as it opens till 12 am. We stayed at Axor Feria because it was close to Barajas Madrid Airport, from which we were departing the next morning. The hotel was very clean, extremely comfortable, and the shower was the best ever. Car rental places were just across the street and, if we had known, we'd have rented our car there and avoided the steep airport taxes! The shuttle was on time and quick. It was an excellent "airport hotel.". We booked this hotel because it was close to the airport and a good deal. The room was much more than we expected. The air conditioning did not work well, but we could open the window and were surprised how quiet it was even though only 5km from the airport. The room was spacious which allowed us to do a major repack before heading to the airport the next day. Used the Hotel in transit from Santiago de Compostela to Seattle, WA so the airport shuttle for pickup and drop-off was very efficient. Room was large, clean and had all the amenities I needed. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Spain. I had the breakfast buffet and used the restaurant for dinner and the food was excellent. Elegant design and very comfortable. The bathrooms are really nice with opaque glass doors and a shower to die for. It is close to the airport, just a short taxi trip away, around 5 minutes. Axor Feria is a clean, comfortable, morden designed hotel that located in a quiet zone, close to the airport about 8 mins journey. Free shuttle bus provided for clients to the airport. It is a wise choice for us to have a rest and catch the early flight the next day. Location very good for Madrid airport, we had a night there each side of our trip to USA, we arrived back early in the morning and our room was available. The restaurant is not in this building is in the Axor Barajas. Go out the door, turn left and walk a block down the street. I expected that it would be more convenient to reach metro & the city centre (5-6 bus stops was too far...). Nothing. Only one English tv channel - and it was just news. A movie channel would have been good. far from the city center. It is not too near a Metro station and you need to take a bus. We waited almost one hour and then the large bus was packed. When it stopped at T1 they had to leave 2 people behind because the bus was full. On the return to the airport the bus left 25 min. late. Air circulation in room was not really great. bed slightly too hard for me but that's just splitting hairs. You have to charge for the parking but there is enough places for parking close to the hotel. Everything was OK :). nothing. The bathroom door was so designed it didn't have a latch or lock. And I requested a wake up call as I had an early flight and it didn't arrive. Nothing. Nothing to complain about. Well, areas close to airports look a bit ugly everywhere in this world. But the hotel itself is more than OK. Do not use luggage weighing scale in the lobby, which charges €1 for each time you weigh a bag!. Staffs are not permanently stationed. none. a little far from the airport but bus was punctual and well maintained. My main course at the restaurant. There aren't any.
