Last summer I stayed for the first time at Axor Barajas both for business (The University of Arizona, USA) and pleasure (Family European vacation) I can't say enough of the quality for the price.....it is a bargain. All of the above questions, I have answered with excellent, though in my field of education it is an A+ I will be returning both for business and pleasure whenever I visit Spain and make sure I book through letsbookhotel.com. Be sure this is the one hotel I will recommend to fam.
all reviews » We stayed at the Axor for one night before our flight home after touring around Spain. Super modern hotel very close to the airport. We must have been upgraded, because our soom was huge. We had a whole studio with a sleek bathroom.The shuttle was excellent. We used it from the airport after dropping off our rental car and then the next morning back to the airport for our flight. First of all our room was surprisingly modern, lovely, and comfortable given the modest price. Though we were there only overnight we'd happily have stayed longer. The room provided a large cozy bed, a TV, wonderful bathroom! Really all the comforts of home for a modest sum. Wouldn't think twice about staying there again!. High-end business hotel; equal or better than Four Seasons. Would not normally use such a hotel for leisure travel, however, we got a price better than the boutique hotel we had planned to stay in Madrid AND needed easy access to the airport. A real bargain (if your lucky in the off-season as we were). Staffs are very friendly . The room is very big , we have booked a triple room but it is enough for four person to stay as I have 2 older kids along . The shopping mall don't have many choices of restaurant , all are fast food . The location is perfect because we need to transit to Barcelona. As you can see above we gave it 5 for all the ratings - public transport into the heart of Madrid is very easy from this location via bus which is 300 metres from the hotel and then via Metro from Canillejas. The whole trip is about 40 minutes. Love the convenience to the airport and the free, scheduled shuttle bus to and from the airport. Very efficient and dependable! Excellent room with comfortable beds and a great shower! Quiet and clean! Air conditioner is a big plus as well. Everything is new and modern and immaculate. It's near the airport, and the shuttle bus leaves every 1/2 hour. Going to Madrid Center (Sol) was easy enough on the 77 bus to the metro green line (reception told us how). We were delighted with the Axor. The beds were soft and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with a wonderful shower. The hotel was very clean with a nice fresh smell. The dinning room food was delicious!. The room was huge and very comfortable. The bed was great, nice linens. The shower was wonderful. There are no restaurants nearby and the walk to the shopping mall where the restaurants are is a little too far in my opinion. The mall is extremely busy and noisey and not a place for a nice quiet dinner. They really do need to have a small snack bar restaurant within the hotel for people who do not want a full fledged dinner in the hotel's dining room. Getting back from city center involved 3 metro lines, then we took a taxi from the airport as we didn't want to wait for the shuttle. The taxi was 17 Euros, which seemed a lot, but we were three, and who knows what else was involved in the fare. Anyway, the meter read 11.6 Euros. So it's not that easy to get back late night. Could have used a clock in the room. If you didn't want to participate in the full breakfast you could only get a coffee at the bar, not in the dinning room. Dinner at the restaurant very good but I felt the staff rushed around too fast and I felt like I was being rushed thru dinner. I asked for water and never got it, it was on my bill and had to have it removed. The shuttle seemed to make multiple mystery stops and took a long time for such a short distance. However, it was convenient. Food prices in hotel's restaurant. Nothing!. This is not a hotel for taking the sights of Madrid, this hotel is used primarily because its close to the airport and convenient for that (but this is not a dislike so long as you realise this). I had booked a 4-person room on letsbookhotel.com and when I checked in (just me, my travel companions went to another town), the hotel refused to downgrade my room stating it was because letsbookhotel.com wouldn't let them..?? I ended up staying in a huge room and got charged more than what I had booked. I'm contacting the hotel to dispute the "extra charge" that came across my credit card. the rooms are sound proof at the outside but with a family next door or above you it can get unpleasant if you want to go early to bed and rest. Located in an industrial estate but the closeness to the airport certainly makes up for it. There weren't many choices for restauraunts around the area. I bit isolated in that way. Limited choices in restaurant and very high prices for just common food. Pretty pricey breakfast. Some of the interior design a bit whacky. It's far from anything other than the airport. We got to the hotel around 3:30PM and told the restaurant in the hotel was closed until 8:30PM. The shuttle driver didn't speak English and left us at terminal 4. We found out once there we had to go to terminal 1. He told us 4 was correct. Not in a very interesting area... but it's an airport hotel, so it's expected. The shuttle bus driver cant speak english well. Nothing negative to say. No pool. no tea of coffee making in room. Nothing. Desk staff, although very efficient, could benefit from some hospitality training. Restaurant staff provided poor service had to ask for more bread , wine, water. Morning coffee was unavailable at the bar for takeout at 0930 told to go to the restaurant and they sent us back to the bar so no coffee. Nothing. High end restaurant only option. Dinner not available until 8:30 pm. need to taxi if you want to go anywhere. nothing within walking distance. Nothing. Expensive dining Uncarpetrd floors transmit sounds.
