The staff at the Ada Palace were so helpful. I lost the boarding pass they had printed for me and they did everything to reprint it after the details of my flight had also disappeared, my fault, I was very distressed, they were wonderful and sorted it for me. I particularly want to thank a young man at reception and a lovely young lady who also worked there, I wish I had got their names, they both spoke perfect English and were so kind. all reviews » Very reasonably priced for a city hotel. Our room was spacious, the bathroom was also a good size and the bed was large and very comfortable. Best of all the room was quiet so it was possible to get a good nights sleep even in the middle of a noisy city. The hotel is easy to find just a short walk from Plaza Cibeles where the airport bus stops. All the main attractions and shops are within easy walking distance. The breakfast buffet was good and there is a roof top terrace where you can relax w. Great location ten minutes walk from Sol with the added bonus that the airport bus stops 200m away. The room had a large hallway leading to an exceptionally well furnished bedroom (superior room), with two large beds, tables and a settee, a big bathroom, and a Juliette balcony overlooking Grand Via. Surprisingly, at a few floors up, the room was very quiet. The large terrace bar on the top floor looks out across the rooftops. It is a good value hotel in a great location and we would stay here a. The staff and service as always is second to none. However, in the 21st century channel news are essential, the hotel has 72 channels but none in English or another language, Spanish, Spanish and Spanish only. Internet at Euro 16.95 is excessive. It should free like everywhere, bearing in mind that the company providing the service is collecting our information to sell to advertising companies. Despite these insignificant issues, it is the best hotel in town. Love the location (near everything including metros); views (if you get the correct rooms); front desk friendly and full of smiles; breakfast is the best around!; stairs are fun to climb but elevator is available; rooms are perfect for just enough down time but since you are in Madrid you will not be in your room much; view from atop the hotel is spectacular and the bar is fun (pricey but fun); overall a must stay!. The breakfast buffet was very good. The bed was really comfortable. It was a beautiful room. The hotel staff was very helpful. They made reservations for us at a Flamenco show. We would not have been able to not knowing spanish well enough. They also printed us directions and gave us information on how to get there. I loved the location! It's in a prime spot, accessible to a number of historic sites, shopping, and restaurants/bars. It was a perfect place to stay to explore the city. The reception staff was extremely friendly and helfpul. The food in the restaurant was delicious. The standard of accommodation. the hotel was friendly with great views on to beautiful buildings - the breakfast was generous and tasty. The entrance is a few metres off Gand Via and we walked right past. The reception area is tiny but don't be put off by this. The only small issue we had was that the door on the shower didn't seal properly and, when you used the massage option on the water, it leaked onto the floor. It was not a big deal. When taking a shower and using the pressure jet valves for concentrated water pressure, after a few minutes the bathroom floor flooded. The shower doors aren't properly sealed and thus, water flooded out. some leakage from shower but minor inconvenience. The waiters in the morning at breakfast were not helpful. We were told one morning that we had arrived too early (7.00 am) and that we should come at 7.30 am. We did so the next day, only to be told that it was a weekend and breakfast started at 8.00 am! This was no good as our day trip required us to be at the coach by 8.30. The actual breakfasts, were excellent, however. Room was a bit warm for those of us from Northern climes as heating was on, but then it was freezing outside at night. Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in room. Wi-fi was too expensive. We felt the menu offered was at a price which was off putting. Madrid restaurants and bars seem to specialise in a range of tapas and menu del dias which are more attractive. These appealed to us more than the thought of a more formal atmosphere which the brochure seemed to imply. Breakfast was poor and the room where the breakfast buffet was arranged was much too hot and the cold buffet was therefore not cold as you might expect, e.g. yoghurt and milk were warm. Also, breakfast staff were not very helpful nor friendly. Nothing. Paid Wi-Fi, leaking shower, limited bathroom amenities (no cream, cotton swabs / pads). Price varies according to occupation. The receptionist on checkin was overwhelmed by constantly ringing in-house requests so this took much longer than normal. Breakfast the first morning was similar with staff not coping with demand and this showed in the grumpy unprofessional manner of the two!!! on duty. We had to wait for tables to be set, plates for cereal had to be requested several times and the queue for the coffee machine ridiculous!! In the room the fabric on the chair was ripped. nothing I would wish to complain about. Didn't like how we were not allowed to sit at the terrace area we previously reserved and with no explanation from the manager who was not very friendly to begin with. Also did not like the fact that internet was not free when in Paris, and all of Morocco and Southern Spain internet was free. I had to pay something like 17 Euro a day for 24-hours of internet usage which was the first time in 14 days in Spain that I had to pay anything for internet. Breakfast was very good but a little pricey compared to other ones we have had on our trip. No complaints and will definately book again and recommend. Hair dryer didn't work and shower doors tend to leak. Amenities in the room needed to be updated. The beds were a little uncomfortable. The shower had mold growing. The shower unit was badly designed and therefore the floor was soaked every time you had a shower The water for the shower was cool in the evenings. Wi-Fi at the room not free, and not precisely cheap. The free one at the restaurant didn't work during all my stay. I liked about all of it. - neutral: since it's a big building, you might not always have a room with nice view, so best when booking ask specifically for it or opt for a higher room category. Nothing. The elevators small are very slow. Hot breakfast food was poor Shower doors didn´t meet so flooded bathroom each use Lack of an English speaking tv channel in room Hi cost of room wi-fi (16.95€ per day). The elevator is little. Over priced wi fi - why not provide 15 mins per day gratis and then charge over and above that. A Kettle in the room is highly desirable. I would like to have a bathrobe and slippers, in-room suites. The showers were ok but all the water went underneath the doors which made the floor very slippery. Not much choice of hot breakfast. We had a shower but preferred a tub / shower combination. The Wi-Fi had a charge fee which in most Hotels are free to people staying there. No mirrors in bedroom No tea/coffee facilites in room. We liked averything!. no bath, but a good shower. The heating system, our room was stifling but it was 20 degrees outside. Tea and coffee making facilities would have been welcome. Every small extra cost - wifi, later check-out, very expensive drinks. Several staff were not friendly or courteous. Small lifts. No lobby. Expensive drinks.
