extremely friendly and very central to everything. A 5 minute walk to Las Ramblas. Lauren and staff at Somnio were the most helpful hotel staff I´ve ever encountered. They loaned us a guide book and answered our many questions. The room/bathrooms were spotless. we arrived before check in time, and they allowed us to use the bathrooms for showers etc, and leave our luggage. highly recommend. all reviews »
First, the hostel is not so far from the public transportation, i.e., the metro station. Second, since it seems to be renovated recently, the facilities are quite new. Moreover, my room is comfortable and quiet in the night. The shared bathroom is also clean. Finally, the staff are friendly, and the most attractive feature for me is the free wireless internet access.Somnio Hostels is the cleanest hostel i stayed in in Europe - I went to Barcelona, Rome, and Paris - and Somnio really set the bar in my hostel stays. Facilities are complete - lockers, washrooms, sink in each room, clean linens/ comforters, comfortable pillows, free internet, and an elevator (!). Location is perfect and quiet. I hope Somnio will still branch out :). It was located at the center so it was a very convenient location. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and they make you feel very welcome. The owners themselves are hands on and welcomes you when you check-in and check-out. It was a pleasant overall experience which made my trip a lot easier and considering it was my first visit to the city.The staff was very friendly and very informative about locations andmodes of transportation to various places. The location was awesome,very very very central. Very clean. Coffee, water and juices wereavailable within the hostel (for a fee) which was very convinient. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful with whatever you needed, from extra towels to getting around in barcelona, to advice for furture travels in the states.I thoroughly enjoyed the ease at which I could be there, it felt like home!!!. There was a confusion in my bed assignment, I had to switch 3 beds 'in a day before I got my own bed. But reception was really helpful in communicating my concerns.None, the hotel was clean and you feel secure around the place. the street was rather noisy. no communal kitchen. Impossible to find at night from directions from metro station, directions great to meto station but then confusing. Reception area real loud at night and was woken up many times during the night. Bathrooms real small.The hot water was not in the same temperature while I was showering. I would have prefered to atleast have a vending machine there where you could put in some coins and have a sandwich or a bar of chocolate..At times having no food options is a big disabling..sharing 6 customer is too much ...I thought 2 or 3 . airconditioner had blower right over my head, noisy with people going in and out of bathroom as my room was right next to it. There were no cupboards and no chairs in the room (Twin with Shared Bath). Smallish rooms. Many client of the hostels just come to have party at night. Therefore when they come back, they don't pay enough attention to the fact that other clients are sleeping. Moreover, during my first night, the man at the reception was serving beers to noisy English clients after midnight. I mentioned this point to the owners. I am sure they will address this issue. there was no possibility for breakfast. Yes during the night hotel gests were very noisy. the shower could be cleaner. I travelled with another female friend and would have preferred two separate beds in the double room I had booked. The single room is small, good for one person.the low availability of the bathrooms during the morning time. Small showers, not for big people!. there are no space to work and hairdrier. It would be good if the hotel could provide a hot water dispenser somewhere in the hotel and also a vending machine on drinks.No cupboard needed to stay more than one night. A bit noisy in the morning, but not that much.Very basic for the price, not TV or tea facilities in the room. area of rooms, absence of wardrobes.

You can catch the blue Aerobus right outside the arrival terminals. The ride is approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the last stop, Plaça Catalunya, you will be right outside of the department store El Corte Ingles, and with the store to your right, walk up Passeig de Gracia to Carrer de la Diputació. Turn left, and walk across Rambla Catalunya to Somnio Hostel on your right-hand side.
From the Nord bus station:
From here you can take the metro from the Arc de Triomph to Plaça Catalunya. Exit for Rambla Catalunya and walk away from the Plaça up Rambla Catalunya to Carrer de la Diputació.
