Rooms are built within an appartement building giving you the feeling of having your own city loft. We had room 4 with a spacious patio overlooking the university building. Beautiful combination of old tile floors with authentic design. It is a hostel but the beds are really comfortable, have luxurious sheets and everything is brand new, clean and well finished. all reviews » Very warm welcome from Carlos which continued throughout our stay-couldnt have been more helpful. Room was a small Eco only but perfect for our two night stay as not needing a room to spend time in other than as a base. Wonderful bed and best sleep I've had for ages in hotel room (travel a lot with work). Great large shower- rain effect and seperate hand held. Lovely touch of free tea and coffee available for guests and a light breakfast provided (not mentioned when booking). Fab location- two . The place was great for our 4-day stay in Barcelona! The whole place was newly renovated, and the room was fantastic. Our room faced the street, and the street noise, while very loud with the windows open, was non-existent with the (new, modern) windows and original shutters closed. The staff was fantastic- Carlos was a great help with his knowledge of the city and great English. Simple breakfast of pastries in the morning, but unlimited coffee was nice. All in all, a great bargain for the pri. The ideal budget hotel: very friendly/helpful staff, clean, newly refurbished suites, free WiFi... AND it's just 5 minutes from subways and the airport Aerobus. They're also happy to hold your bags if checking in early or you have all day on your checkout day before heading to your next destination. They'll help you find anything in the city, they helped us to find a laundromat which was just around the corner, place was very clean and had free WiFi. Very nice small hotel at the 2nd floor in the centre of town at 5 minutes walk from the Ramblas and 4 minutes from a metrostation but however not any noise from the traffic once you are in. We stayed for 5 nights in Ecozentric. It's a new and a very clean hotel. Location is excellent, it's right in Eixample close to some main attractions and a bunch of very very good restaurants. Wi-Fi was good, staff was very friendly, we were offered a free welcoming cava and tea-coffee-water was always available for taking. We had a terrace that was very relaxing and spatious. I would definetely recommend staying here. The room was simply beautiful and the staff extremely competent and helpful. The balcony was also very beautiful and the location perfect (very near to Las Ramblas y plaza de Catalunya) but not turistic. The closest Metro-Station is UNIVERSIDAD and the bus coming from the airport stops there. If you go back to the airport the bus leaves frpm PLAZA CATALUNYA but it's so close that you can easily walk there. Perfect location - less than 5 mins from Rambla,15 mins to Gothic Quarter, 5 mins to excellent local restaurants and bars (as recommended by the friendly and extremely helpful proprietors - Borja and Carlos). Rooms at the back are more quiet and when you close your windows you won't hear a thing. Rooms are small but if that OK for you this hostel is the best pick!. A little bit hard to find. Just look for the street number above the door, or give the address to the cabbie. The name of the place will not mean anything to the cab driver. The only indication of Ecozentric from the street is the label next to the buzzer on the door frame, but just paying attention to the street number is fine, especially if you print out a Google Map and take it with you. The room was a bit small. The room is VERY small. I have a big suitcase and it was very difficult to leave it open during the stay. There was also no table and no seat indoors (only on the balcony), so I had to do all my work "in bed". nothing. It is a little bit difficult to find the hotel for the first time. There is no noticeable sign of "Eco" or "Hotel". You have to look for house number exactly. Nothing!. The hostel should have told us that they are on the second florr and that there is no signage and only a small marking at the door - was so hard to find our taxi just gave up. The breakfast (although limitless) could be healthier (more ECO friendly) - not just plastic wrapped pastry and biscuits. Yogurt and canned fruit would be an option. Room was a little bit small. Room was a little small and balcony chairs not particularly comfortable. Nothing!. The entrance is not clearly marked. It looked like an office building with no signs or marquis. Our room was on multiple levels so it meant stepping UP to the sink or UP to the bath. we stayed for one night in fact 18 hours .think a long stay might have caused claustrophobia.. no windows to outside. Tricky to find .. I should have emailed would have found sign on door buzzers more easily. Nothing!. room was very small, almost claustrophobic for 2 people, fine for one person. The hotel was a floor in an apt. building with 9 rooms. You needed a key to get into the building. No doorperson at night. I am used to NYC so I was not scared, but most single women might not feel comfortable. No chair in bedroom. Had to watch TV in bed. Sink was on the back porch outside the toilet and shower. Rated 2 stars on the actual building. No place to talk to other guests. Really never met anyone. Just a place to sleep. Thats why we heard how other gests had breakfast early in the morning and talking about at 8 a.m. Some rooms were really small... Hard to spot at 1st, but if u have the exact address then it's not a problem. Not a complaint, just a warning the room was very small, but it was advertised as such. If you are out all day and just need to crash it works great!. Difficulties in locating hotel on arrival due to poor signposting. Nothing particular. little storage space in the bedroom. only one tiny table and a shelf. no closet. but it's OK. - Room was a bit small - no complete breakfast, but always coffee, tea and biscuits available. Nothing. Just to remind other travelers that there is no shampoo or stuff like that. small room. The balcony was to the inside and not a plus. The small space around the bed made little room for suitcases. Room No. 6 too small for 2 persons but I used it only for sleeping so ok :-). very compact room, terrace was a bit of a gimmick (too small and pokey, no real natural light to speak of). Window in bathroom door. In the room with balcony on the university side, the internet connection was absent. no visible sign on street, I've first passed by the door some carpet on floor by bed or slippers in the room are missing. Noisy at night as the room I had was facing the main road (5 lanes). Small room. Breakfast is dry food based, biscuits and buns. Not even toast. Hotel is brand new, so perhaps they will get this right given time.
