At Candlewood Lodge we were provided with a beautifully furnished and clean room called Spray. Although the room did not offer a view of the Knysna Lagoon, it provided every mod con we could have wished for. The owners, Joyce and Graham, are extremely friendly, helpful and informative regarding the town's facilities and restaurants. Graham also helped to arrange a game of golf for me at the incredible Simola Golf Course at a discounted rate. The breakfasts are very adequate indeed and are serve.

Your hosts, Joyce & Graham Greenwood originally from South Derbyshire England, designed and constructed Candlewood Lodge to meet their own exacting standards and guests will feel totally at home in this sumptuous lodge. Each guest room is tastefully appointed in different styles so guests can choose which best suits them.

Knysna is situated in the heart of the Garden Route, approximately 75km from George and 260km from Port Elizabeth.

Knysna lies on the banks of a beautiful lagoon, surrounded by a natural paradise of lush indigenous forest, tranquil lakes and golden beaches.

Travelling information

From Cape Town: Take the N2 to George and continue along it to Knysna town. Go through the town centre until you pass the local hospital on your left, carry on to the Kwik Spar on the Right. At the traffic light turn left. You will see a block of apartments in front of you which are painted blue. Take a left in front of them. Then take the next left into Stinkwood Crescent. We are number 8 just on the crest. From Port Elizabeth: Take the N2 to Plettenberg bay and continue on it towards Knysna. You will see the lagoon from the crest of the hill just as you pass by the local township. At the bottom of the hill you will reach a traffic light by the Caltex garage, turn right. Take the next left at the T junction and then turn left into Stinkwood Crescent. We are No 8 just on the crest.
