The staff were friendly and helpful; the rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean and the hotel was conveniently located (reasonably close to the old part of town and the castle,as well as being near the train station). We only stayed one night but felt that we had a really good experience of Bratislava and we would certainly return to this small, friendly, comfortable and reasonably priced hotel on a future return visit to this charming and interesting historic city.
all reviews » If you have never been to bratislava, you must go. The beer is so cheap, avg 1.40 euro, the women are so beautiful and the food is good (slovak pub is excellent) there are lots of bars and some good clubs. The pension was great and the staff brilliant. Even when I was waking them up at 5 in the morning after being out. The room was nice, the shower massive and even had separate bath. I had a great time in slovakia and miss it already. This was a delightful small hotel,perfectly situated in quiet side street but equally practical for the city and all visitable sites. We had plenty of space in apartment with the use of quiet garden area at back. Could not have been better. Very comfortable and the staff were very friendly helpful with advice, and extremely hospitable. Nothing was any trouble to them. Superb "bolt hole". We've got a lovely appartment with sunny private backyard for the price of simple double room. It looked even better than in the pictures. We've overslept the breakfast but they waited for us. As well as didn't blame us for late check out. It was so pleasant to be there, that we didn't want to leave. the Pension Virgo is a lovely lovely place :) we stayed there only for one night but it was lovely. the location has personality!!!! The room was really clean and beautiful furnished, the bathroom was huge. The staff was friendly, we could walk to the city center and the castle. the location was great, right in the old town, near shops bars, castle etc... the hotel was very clean and modern, even though the building was a lovely old style building. massive bath and 8foot by 4 foot walk in shower. lovely. thank you. The staff is there for you 24/7 especially when it comes to nightlife directions. The main entrance is closed all the time, so there is no reason to feel insecure. You can reach many sights by feet as a result of the good location in the city center. I loved the comfortable bed, beautiful decor, lovely terrace with a view of the castle and being situated in one of the oldest parts of the city with close distance to the main attractions and the centre of the city. I stayed for two nights with my kids and they loved it. If I ever come to Bratislava this will be my choice again. The hotel is situated in a very convenient location close enough to the centre to get there in few minutes on foot, but not too close so as to keep the noise low. Rooms are well furnished and cozy. Only a small one, but a mini fridge in the room is the only thing I can think of. But if you ask downstairs for coffee they dont mind. The only available pay method was cash and the issued bill doesn't look very reliably. nothing.............. The fact that we could not stay a bit longer. Weak wi-fi signal in room. Unfortunately, as many other reviewers wrote, you are forced to pay cash upon arrival since the receptionist tells you the machine is broken and won't be fixed any time soon. Moreover the fact that you have to ask for the hair dryer every day is quite annoying (they are stowed behind the reception). Another downside is that the lack of window blinds makes the room bright at dawn. Although requested a double ended up with twin beds pushed together but wasn't really a problem. They don't have city maps. There was no hair dryer in the room, but you can borrow one at the reception, so this not really a complain :). the only staff we met was the woman at the reception and she was unfriendly. We didn't have hot Walter, apparently because there were some street works... I didnt like that our toilet wasn't cleaned properly. Floor wasn't washed and shower dirty, the shower door was broken too .... we showered with an open door... also one of our beds had yellow stains on the sheet. A little disappointed!. I spent there only one night :). It is very small room for breakfast with small tables. Room size on second floor (attic). No problems as such but it was very hot in Bratislava (38-39C) and for this price bracket air conditioning is generally standard. Wish they let you take a front door key so you didn't actually have to wake the girl on the desk to let you in. It might be better to put bars on windows, as it does not feel comfortable to leave the window open during night, as the room was in the ground floor, and it gets hot (no aircon)... Scuff marks on walls in bedroom and water leak marks on walls in bathroom. Breakfast could have offered more, a little disappointed. The name outside the hotel is Hotel Virgo so a bit confusing to find. View from room not the best. No fridge and kettle, very small breakfast room. N/A. N/A. the TV didn't work :). Nothing. The man in the reception on the last day was a bit rude. - street indicators, too rare, difficult to find or see while driving. Curtains didnt fit the window. Only one bedside light. No key to get in had to wait for the receptionist to open door. The old town was very touristy. Lots of large tour groups following flag holding guides. Lack of precision in making booking. Breakfast area was a little too warm. Nothing. ventilator in the bathroom and toilet and the oven were dirty (the rest of the room was clean). I think you need tea and coffee station in the room . The only spiral staircases to the upper floors made it harder to bring large luggages upstairs. it was a bit hard to find as from what I remember outside there was no sign set;. nothing not to like.
