Hotel Rosa sits at the top of the hill in San Marino, right below the castle. It was comfortable, staff was very helpful and you could park right at the hotel. Mind you, getting into the parking area is a "thrilling" experience but the gentleman taking care of the desk was there to give very good directions to get your car in and out. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the beautiful view from the top of the mountain. Comfortable beds, good space in the room. The bathroom was compact .

Everything was amazing! We liked the hotel and San Marino so much that we stayed for 1 more night, the staff was very kind and offered the same room for us. The restaurant was not working since it is still low season, and finding a place to dine was a challenge. But you can always go with local wine, tomatoes, cheese and ham from the store. With lunch there is no problem at all. Wifi was working strange, but it worked and that's great. Good breakfast (with strawberries!) and perfect coffee - no. We had a wonderful stay. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. They spoke English and helped us with our poor Italian. The location is ideal, just inside the Porta della Fratta, and only a few meters from Parking lot #6 (the hotel is in a vehicle restricted zone, but they provided us a 24-hour pass for the parking lot for 4 Euro). Breakfast was more than adequate. The WiFi worked well for us. We got adjacent rooms, which is sometimes a problem for our family of 5. Overall, a terrific. The location is perfect. Just below the First Tower and just inside the City Gates. The hotel itself is quiet, clean and very comfortable. Our room was simple and well appointed. The wifi was free and easy to access. Breakfast was lovely and relaxed. We loved the owner's Alsatian dog who tried its best to ignore us during our stay but finally sucumbed to my attentions when i produced a tennis ball. The view from the terrace after dark with a lemoncella was stunning. I had a small, single room that was very comfortable and well-desiged with everything I needed. Owner was very helpful and parking was good, after you could access it. Had a nice view from my window of the wall and small tower. A Right next to the wax museum featuring instruments of torture and down the street from the vampire museum! How can you go wrong? Good internet and good breakfast too. It's windy on the hilltop, so be sure to take a jacket. Excellent position in San Marino, free onsite parking available which is a massive bonus (just be aware of the restrictions on traffic into the "centro storico" - stringently applied in high season but more lax in quieter times) and very clean. A well catered but standard Italian buffet breakfast. A great choice of hotel for a visit to San Marino. Everything about the hotel was excellent. The staff is very nice, the rooms are superb and the location is just perfect (just inside the walled city). Parking is right next to the hotel (after 7pm), otherwise a public car park is just outside the walls (100m away). The breakfast was also very nice and the whole atmosphere was great. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The room and bathroom was very clean. And the hotel was right in the old town, so we walked to everything. We were able to get a discount parking ticket, so we didn't have to pay too much or navigate the tight turns to the hotel in our rental van. Breakfast was very good, as well. The location of Hotel Rosa is amazing - must be the highest hotel in San Marino, with spectacular views and excellently placed for exploring the town and the three towers/castles.Amazingly we parked a BMW 5 series estate right outside the front door, having driven in disbelief to this location, via our Satnav!. The location is really great right in the historical city center, few steps away from all important attractions. Thre hosts, staff is very nice. The room is very beautiful and clean. Breakfast is very good. You can serve real cappucino during breakfast. Extremely friendly and helpful owners and staff. Nicely renovated hotel, in keeping with the ambience of the area. Only negative is you can't drive you car to the hotel parking until 7pm, so you have to park in one of the pay parking areas until 7pm, then move your car. Nothing negative about it. Be aware that you won't be able to take your car directly to the hotel - it's in a pedestrian area - until 7 P.M. And it's a bit of an uphill hike to get to from the p6 parking lot. But it's not too bad. The views are worth it!. We were here in April, some shops didn't open early etc, I think this community very much shuts down or slows down during off peak season. I struggled to find an atm. We didn't have any trouble with driving in, but our rental car was small and I live in Europe so I'm used to the driving. For those not used to European driving this may seem challenging. There are parking lots one level lower for tourists. We didn't have any trouble with parking on the property. Breakfast could be improved. Car parking, check details before you arrive as you are only allowed into this section of town after 7pm. The smell of woodsmoke (used by all restaurants for their grills) can be quite overpowering and a problem for people with respiratory issues. This is NOT a criticism of the Hotel, but, worthwhile knowing. No complaints with this hotel which we booked on short notice. The energy saving system of inserting a key into a hole is not a good one, and also activates immediately without pause. The TV should have more foreign channels. The fan coil unit did not seem to work with the thermostat, and the room was cold at night. - Parking was minimal. Only 5 spots were available. - The Hotel is located in a limited trafffic zone. No vehicle traffic is allowed between 10am and 7pm. This was not listed on the hotel website nor in letsbookhotel.com's add for the hotel. 'Free wi-fi connection' was quite patchy (although good when it worked!). Slow wi-fi with droping internet access. Parking, which is possible only from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m., before that only at any parking in city ( near is #6, where is a place for hotel guests to carry their lugage to the hotel, which is good because you can buy a parking ticket for the whole day for 4€ at hotel reception). WI-FI had limited capacity and could not handle web pages with lots of graphics. Owner recommenced restaurant Cesare, but looked too touristy with loud music, so went to closer restaurant with local people and much lower prices. The hotel was noisy and in the morning we could hear the staff downstairs through our walls. wifi connection could be better. My only complaint is about the quality of the sleep: the walls where really thin and I heard very well the neighborhood's snoring. All was OK. nothing!. Be warned about limited time access through the city gate. Hotel told us we could sneak through early. The police who caught us told us otherwise!!! The paying car park is probably 400 metres away and the hotel is uphill from there. This is a problem throughout San Marino though. The internet here was very poor. no restaurant, but there are some close by. Indifferent desk staff. Restaurant was closed. Weak and unstable Wi-Fi, poor soundproofing from a corridor side. Language was a problem. The woman who did the breakfast was grumpy & noisy. If she doesn't like her job she should quit! Made us very uncomfortable. We don't have a good view in our rooms and the breakfast can be improved. Shower room very small. Hotel has limited parking and it's in a restricted area, so ask about it as soon as you check in. Poor breakfast; clean, but cold room; noisy AC; the chime of the bells of a San Marino fortress at 7 AM. Room was very small and dark. Feels like the place is not well attented and old.
