I think the location was good because it was very nice around the hotel but driving in nothing else looked as nice. The dinner in the hotel was excellent with great borscht. Nice view from the rooms (well, not the ugly apartment block opposite, but towards the cathedral etc), good breakfast and v speedy laundary service. The SPA facilities were excellent. The kitchen was very good. Especially nice I found the bottle of champagne and fruits for my birthday!))).
all reviews » I liked spa there so much! There are very comfortable rooms and perfect views if you stay on the river side. The location and the staff of the hotel are very nice. GPS does not work here and impossible to read Cyrillic road signs. We were driving for an hour before we found by sheer luck. We managed to get our rather smoothy. Crossing the border from Lithuania and thenback into Poland were not fun experiences. But we did it. Never again. gas pollution in the city (50% persons refuel cars fuel oil and solar panels fuel). It was noisy in my room because of the fridge. One staff (only) was terrible. Larrissa at the reception. Very rude... thin walls .. hysterical women crying behind them .. Smoking room was given to non-smokers. Kaliningrad is uncomfortable town to travel to: just a few interesting sites, siteseeing is not good. They don't let to go to the swimming pool with children after 14:00. I was upset. Nothing. Weddings and parties till the night. We were charged for several bottels of water, which stood on the table. We thought, that they were free of charge. It would be better if one could in advance reserve a room with a view toward the river. rooms too small, nothing to eat after 11 pm, which is not admissible for a 4-star hotel. A wedding was held in the hotel restaurant during our stay. Unfortunately that restaurant sits at the bottom of a six floor open Space, facing all of the rooms, creating an infernal noise. Worst ever - out of hundreds of hotel stays. No-one in their right mind would make such an arrangement.
