The receptionist (the Spanish / Norwegian one) was very charming. These kind of people make a hotel for what it is. Taking some time for small talk and giving you some trivial information about the area. The room was as expected, clean, proper but not too spacious. Distance from bus or city center are ok, but it´s a little off. Free coffee at the front desk was also quite appreciated!. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly , my bed was comfortable , location was near to city center 15 mins walk and a good value for money , room had a very good view to lake and mountain . Reception showed us a good restaurant near hotel its name was PitzaExpress and I recommend hotel and PitzaExpress to everyone.

Coffee was available at Reception throughout the day and night, free of charge. No real noticeable problems. The prices are slightly higher in Norway, so you pay more, get less, but that is not to blame to the hotel. No breakfast included, but that was ok since I had to leave early. they didnt clean my room during my stay , location was not easy to find and a little bit hilly , reception was not after 11 o'clock. breakfast is limited, far away from centre (15 min walk) + slope : not easy to travel with luggage. It is in the city centre, but certainly not an efortless walk from the port, mainly if walking with luggage on the slippery roads. Would have liked a bath. No hairdryer in the room. Poor choice of cereals and fruit -- no decent muesli (bought my own), no hot breakfast, milk ran out & was no-one to ask for more. Hotel signs are almost entirely in Norwegian -- need more in English / other languages. Found the distance & the snowy hill down to the city tiring -- discouraged me from going out for evening meal. I was on foot / no car. did not like breakfast, that was poor. diddn't even find salt and pepper. no warm food like eggs. Nothing. It,s a bit dificult to find it. Breakfast a bit too simple. Prefer hot meal (bacon and eggs). There were no personal at 07 00 when i check out from the hotel. Location slightly uphill and away from downtown Tromso. Very slippery road/driveway to get down to the hotel entrance. Heating went off early, room was cold in the night. I informed that I had a gluten free diet one day got 2 rice cakes There was no hot water on night I arrived. There was waste in the bin in the bathroom when I arrived. Did not feel like a hotel more like a student dormitory. Poor quality towels No hair dryer Poor lukewarm coffee. The hotel appears to be part of a clinic/hospital and the rooms and bathrooms clearly resemble hospital rooms. The breakfast was just adequate...very little fruit. Because of its location, and appearance (hospital/clinic) it was hard to find...although our GPS led us there we rang the hotel, because the sign to the hotel is with those to the hospitaller/clinic. It is a long way out of town...at least a 30 minute walk.
