Friendly, helpful staff. Very convenient location for centre of Leiden and accessing the rest of Holland as next to station. Previous reviewer complained about noise from the station, but this didn't seem to be a problem in the room we were in. Spacious room and bathroom with two waterbowls, good breakfast. bean so central. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is convenient for the station and town is only a few minutes walk away.it was a nice, comfortable room. Good breakfast. This hotel is just 2-4 min walk from the Leiden Centraal railway station and hotel building is visible as soon as you come out of the railway station. There is a central reception(i.e. one entrance) for both Golden Tulip Hotel and this hotel. Also Connexion service(bus to kuekenhof i.e. Tulip Gardens) is located next to Leiden Centraal station and the bus#54 takes around 20 min to reach kuekenhof.Convenient and comfortable hotel very close to City Centre. Golden Tulip on previous visit was tired looking with dirty carpet in room. I was not pleased with the receptionist behaviour. But other people in the reception counter were exceptional.Some road noise but not a significant issue. Breakfast too expensive - we preferred the Bagel shops in town. there was a square pillar in the middle of our room which was a bit odd! shower was a bit small, but good otherwise. Tea making facilities would have been nice - we thought it was a bit unusual for a hotel of this calibre not to have them. Also, no air conditioning that we could see - given the noise of the traffic if you have a room to the front it would be hared to sleep with window open. Dinner menu extremely limited. there has been construction going on forever across the street and despite double glazed windows the noise penetrates into the room.No minibar and the omlette at breakfast tasted like it was made in Taiwan :) Aside from that it was a very good hotel. My rate did not include the breakfast, however, the cost of breakfast (for 2 persons) has been additionally included in the amount of the bill by default.Could not open the window. Twin room looked more like a double room (could not divide the two beds because there was not enough space). Breakfast way too expensive. Bed was not really comfortable. reception staff were unfriendly, and not overly helpful. room was made up as a double when we had requested a twin. The room was not cleaned well. Too soft beds, noisy air conditioned. It could do with brightening up - rooms are functional but not very inviting.one of reciption laidies during the booking was rigid and not smoling. During our stay the only effort at cleaning the room was to pull the bedcover up. Towels remained on the floor; No tea or coffee making facilities in room. The price of the room was too high for the standard of hotel.
