Location and atmosphere are great, an older style boutique hotel. Staff really friendly and very helpful, can't fault them at all and will be going back at some point. Second visit there, love it. Excellent town centre location and pleasantly busy, buzzy bar and restaurant. Nice simple check-in and friendly staff. Breakfast well- worth getting up for and internet worked perfectly.

The stairs are very steep and lift very small so bit of a mission to get to the rooms with lots of bags. Rooms basic and can be very hot but you can open a window... On arrival: a sleety, below-zero March afternoon my room was freezing and it took a good hour to warm up after I'd turned the radiator on. Simple thing - turn a radiator on (even if low) when guests are expected. A little dated, no tea/coffee facilities in room. stayed on a Monday evening and in a room over looking the market. I what I did not know was the market sets up at 4am on a Tuesday , incredibly noisy and disruptive . The first room we were given up in the Attic. Noise from Queens birthday celebrations, This was some thing the Hotel could do nothing about but check 29-30 April next year. The room on the third floor is after a very steep staircase. Not very good for elderly prople. No air-conditioning. Room was cold and badly in need of refurbishment. Heater was provided though. Being an older building internal decor could do with refurbishment (the bathroom in my room had been updated to a good standard) . The room floors would benefit from a re-design and renewal. At time of travel it was early Feb and the rooms were chilly. A real dump. No heat in February, awful bed and pillows, no tea or coffee making facilities in room, not enough light in room to read a book. At 80 euros a night, way over-priced. The furniture was all dump quality and no plug for sink. Bathroom heated by broken electric fire which I was told to turn off if I wanted a shower. No real lock on door so as a single lady I felt unsafe. Were put in a room not overlooking the square as was told the market setting up would be noisy, instead we had Drum and Bass till two in the morning. Waitress with joe 90 glasses at breakfast was very miserable. Very very Old furniture, no coffee maker, no mini bar. The noise inside and outside, de room was quite hot and the ventilator not that strong (& quite noisy to). Shabby room and dirty carpet in corridors. Directed by sat nav but hotel should give warning that cars not allowed in area outside hotel. Parking 10 mins walk not so good with luggage. very steep stairs to the bedroom which was on the top floor. Noise durign the night outside.
