What people say
Very easy going and pleasant personnel; quiet location but easy of access once directions explaned; could do with print out of transport choice. The manager was great, friendly and helpful. Decor and cleanliness. Our room was very modern, bright, the wet room was great. Big screen TV, hairdryer included. The beds were so comfortable. The owner made us feel very welcome. There was no traffic noise during the night. Breakfast was informal with a great selection. Anyone who moans about the stairs in Amsterdam, should stay at home, this is what Amsterdam hotels are all about. all reviews »
My visit was in January so the price was excellent. It was my third trip to Amsterdam and this was the best place I have stayed by a huge margin. This is my first choice for my next visit. Our room was a beautiful attic room with a beamed ceiling and a very trendy shower room, also the chaps running the place were very friendly and helpful.Really funky breakfast room too. The place is very typical, nice, clean and very quiet. And Prisco is a real gentlman!. Hotel staff. Super, just go, do not hesitate! It was a very good surprise because Ibooked at teh last minutes and I didn't have a lot of choice. It's avery nice place, easy parking, close to the city center, very good priceand very friendly people.Pierre. Friendly and helpful owner and staff. Large, newly decorated room. Very well-located in terms of public transportation to all parts of the city. Walking distance from a famous street market. Supermarket and laudromat close by. Excellent value for the price, and very good solution for young couples. Location is very good and room we stayed in was large with nice recently renewed bathroom.A warm welcome by the owner - the feeling was like staying at the friend's house. What I liked most during my stay was the hospitality, friendliness and availability of staff. Room was updated and clean, the location was very quite. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hospatality of Elliot and Peter. Our stay was very comfortable.Nice breakfast. Friendly staff, clean room, good location just out of the central area and great continental breakfast. The room was quite good and clean, was in a quiet neighborhood (relatively close to Rembrandtplein and Leindseplein) and the guy from the hotel was very polite. He even let us eat breakfast, opening the kitchen for us much later than the due time. The first reason we booked this hotel was its low rate, and on the bottomline, its a quite good value for money.. the room was clean and comfy, we didnt get much sllep as we were on the ground floor and the noise from the other guests was awful. The heating pipes creakes all night. There was no coffee facilities in our room.Staff are very friendly and helpful, rooms are nice and in a convenient location. One of the breakfast-staff was very helpfull. Not alot, the bathroom was nice I suppose. The breakfast was quite nice. They should acknowledge your emails when you notify them of arrival times. It's a long climb up very steep stairs, but a small price to pay for a great view. Staff not available when you need to talk to someone after 5pm. Occasional bad odour in the shower stall (the owner is aware of the problem and has undertaken to fix it). Stairs winding and steep--not appropriate for people with walking problems. No fridges in rooms. I think in Rooms and Co Bed and Breakfast should be more strict with the cleanliness of the rooms and should include some fruit at breakfast. The breakfast was the same every morning, some food became stale. The room was not made up during our stay. I don't know whether this is common practice for small hotels in Amsterdam.Twin beds in the room. The Stairs. Little dusty. Slightly noisy in the morning as our room was next to the kitchen area. The first night the heater was off, and the hotel room was freezing cold. As the hotel guy told us someone had messed with the heater controls and it went off. However, there should be a telephone number or another way to reach the reception or someone from the hotel during the night. Also they gave us another room than the one ordered, but that other room was quite good, and we had no probs. Rooms were not cleaned daily and the heating was very noisy during the night. Also, there are roadworks outside at the moment which are pretty noisy. No information what at all, no phone numbers, no way to contact staff (tried the bell at the hall, with no response), no information on what to do in case of an emergency or other problems. The room was not cleaned (only once at my request), running out of clean towels and toilet paper. It was dirty, the glasses in the bathroom had the reamins of someone else's toothpaste in. The windows did not keep out the traffic noise, there was no lobby, reception was on the first floor.Unfortunately we got the smallest and dirtiest and most old-fashioned room the hotel has.We had a look in another room - it was nice and new renovated. Our wasn't. There were spiders on the wall, wholes in the wall, no real door infront of the WC (just one like you have for wardrobe, consisting of several piles of wood). We tried to arrange that we could move into another room ... but no way.

Information about the area
Rooms & Co. is located strategically in relation to the centre and the many museums. The centre and museums are all at walking distance, otherwise for non walking guests, there are trams and metros close by. The house is located on a street right behind the Stadhouderskade (lining the inner circle of Amsterdam). For such a central position, it is a pleasantly quit in the street.
