Museum Quarter is a 10-minute walk away and houses the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and Stedelijk Museum. Complimentary tea and coffee is offered on arrival. The owner/staff were fantastic - friendly, thoughtful, knowledgeable. The single rooms were on the small side, as it is an old family house but that added to the character. It felt like being a house, rather than a hotel, guest. There were great extra touches like fresh flowers everywhere and a newspaper at breakfast. I would absolutely recommend staying here and will definitely be returning soon.
all reviews » Breakfast was really nice - the croissants are delicious! The manager/host on weekday mornings, Henk, was very helpful. He offered to assist me in carrying a tray of food to my room for my sleepy sister on at least three mornings. Our room was comfortable, spacious and clean. The hotel is conveniently located on tram line #2. The hotel sells tram line and Van Gogh museum tickets. Wonderful!. The staff, specifically Henk, were extremely kind and helpful- from helping with the bags, to giving suggestions and directions to different sights, to breakfast service! And the location was great, right of the tram line making it easy to get into city center or central station. Everything I had read from other travelers when I booked my room was absolutely true, which is why I picked hotel!!. I am very happy to recommend this hotel. Everything in the hotel was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. It took about 10 minutes each way to walk to the Rijkesmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, and the trip on the 2 tram from the central station was easy and quick. Our room was comfortable with a good bed. Great value for money.The staff ,cleanliness,size of the room (apt), location, and last butnot least henk. Henk is an incredible host. In general, bathroom ventilation could be better.A bit too loud music to the breakfast! Opera and dramatic classical music.... Public Transport:
From Amsterdam Central station take tram 2.
Alight at the Emma street stop. (After about 18 minutes ride).
This is the 3rd tram stop after the Van Gogh Museum.
Walk back up the road for about 50 meters.
Hotel Zandbergen is on your right hand side. Willemsparkweg 205

By Car:
Make sure to pre-select traffic lanes when approaching intersections.
On approaching Amsterdam, choose Ring A10 ZUID and exit at S108.
S108 reads as the road sign - Amstelveen / Amsterdam centre -
Turn right at the first traffic lights, direction Centrum.
Follow the road around large Parking Square on your right and a Citroen garage on your left. Stay in the left lane.
After the first bend, turn left at traffic lights heading in the same northerly direction.
Follow the tree-lined road around the traffic circle until you reach the next set of traffic lights. Turn right into the Koninginneweg.
After about 1.5 Km, having gone through another set of traffic lights, you will reach a bend in the road with a police station on the right. This is the beginning of the Willemsparkweg. Proceed a further 50 meters and you will reach Hotel Zandbergen on your right.

NB. Parking fees are compulsory in the whole of Amsterdam.
Fines for non-payment are in excess of 68 euros

We recommend that you do not use your car in the city.
