Niels provided outstanding service. He was personable and extremely helpful. When I first arrived in Amsterdam I got myself lost in the red light district and he came to pick me up. The apartment was immaculate and had a well-equipped kitchen. It was located in a quiet, beautiful nieghborhood overlooking the canals. We were provided with a 360 degree view of the New Year's fireworks. Niels is the guy rinning the business, he is very friendly. He met us at the tram station, helped with parking, gave good tips on where to eat, was available for text messages if necessary and arranged a transfer to the airport. The apartment was very well located and furnished, we were a group of 6 people and it was much cheaper to stay in the apartment than to book hotel rooms.
all reviews » The apartment I had on the Spuistraat is fantastic! In the center of Amsterdam, easy access to all the tourist-places. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. As is quite usual for Dutch houses, the stairs are narrow, so it might not be suitable for elderly folk. Niels - the owner is not only very helpful, he is also extremely friendly. Recommended!. Spacious, nice apartment spanning across two 16th century canal houses. Staying in this apartment is a very good opportunity to experience the everyday life in Amsterdam. It is located 50 meters away from a tram stop. All the city attractions are within 4 tram stops. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.The apartment that I rented was located very close to the heart of Amsterdam, and walking distance to many of the museums. The room was clean and tidy and warm, especially during the winter. Also, the owner was very accommodating and very easy to get ahold of. The location was great. The apartment was beautiful. When I come back to Amsterdam i will definitely not look to stay anywhere else. Not suitable for elderly/infirm because of narrow steep stairs. not at all. great experience.floorboards of room upstairs were very noisy!. No, maybe the small stairway, but you can live with that :). Asked the owner for a spare blanket for my friend, who was sleeping inthe sofa, and he said he would bring one to the apartment on the nextday... But for some reason he did not. The noise from the street at night was loud, especially with construction going on nearby. I slept with earplugs at night which solved the problem. Smoke from the "coffeehouse" downstairs could be smelled in the apartment and bathrooms. These, however, were inconsequential and did not affect our enjoyment of the apartment.Had to contact manager directly to find out location and requestspecific unit as it is not clearly spelled out on booking website. Room could have seemed less "lived in", between tenants, but not ina bad way.To access the 3rd floor, we had to a spiral staircase which was really narrow. the double bed was broken so had 2 sleep in singles. The shower wasn't too good, but ok. Also the flat itselt could be a bit cleaner... the shower did not drain, the floors were not clean, previous occupants had left a tray full of meat fat in the oven, there was a mouse in the kitchen (we saw this mouse on our second evening and this was a very big problem for us).The apartment was cold even with the heat system on.The bed location was on the side of the window which is directly on the street (ie, u will be hearing every single sound happening in the street by pedstrains while u are in bed !!). the stairs were like ladders. Very steep and winding...............steeper than most in Amsterdam.5 flights steps. Location not as advertised on website but in a secondary location futher outside of the town district. The bed was terrible.
