Since the medina can be wery hostile to new arrivals, it's a good idea to take a taxi from the city. Fortunately, taxis can drive just in front of the hotel and yet the hotel is still in the medina. The location on bookings map is not exact, so it is hard to find on your own. This was the only hotel we stayed in morocco where wifi worked almost well (we could make skype calls). Free mint tea was again super.
all reviews » on the entrance to Medina, very climatful old part, In front of nice cafe with licence guide called "Lech Walesa" who knows Medina as his own packet, perfect place for people who wants to meet real old Medina. Wow super friendly staff speaking excellent english. Made you feel very welcome and would do anything to help. Very accomodating and great for the price central to old fes and with parking. This place is in a good location, because it is very close to the Medina, but just outside, so there is parking right outside the house and you don't have to worry about hazzle in the Medina and not finding the place. The staff was OK, I guess, but not particularly friendly. We had a windowless room at first, where we locked ourselves into, because the owner had given us a wrong key, and we couldn't get back outside the room. He did not even apologize, even though it took forever to get noticed. Location Good place, but it seems that long time ago it lost the owner. Good position, easy to reach by taxi. Good stuff!. Central to the Medina. The location of the hotel meant you could easily access the medina but it was far from the train station unless you take a taxi. The bed seemed clean enough and towels were provided. Breakfast was included but we didn't stick around for it. The hotel position right before the Medina. Mustaffa on at night was excellent. The room had no windows, we had to ask for a room key. The toilet seat seemed to fall and crack as soon I sat on it. As a typical moroccan riad - no shower curtain. The tv had no channels - the antenna wasn't connected since it had no compatible tip. You have to watch out for the touts even inside the hotel. They ambush you in the lobby and pretend to be quests also. mouldy and smelly bathroom, generally run-down place, not very well maintained. The door locks are broken There are hot water only in the part of the rooms, the others rooms have problems with hot water. On arrival appeared "guide" who want make business suggesting different things for two times bigges price. The most dirty and dodgy hotel I saw in Morocco (hair in sheets, dirty wc, brocken locks). Bath towels were not provided. Our room was very noisy and too bright in the early morning (awnings were too thin). Poor breakfast. With a few euros you could find better hotels in fès. Pretty much everything else. The hotel "guide" I was told, after the fact, runs a scam on the guests in conjunction with the owner. You'll pay twice the real price of anything with them. The hotel room smelled like sewage, the shower head was broken so we had to shower using just the hose and the staff seemed like they were up to something so we just tried to avoid them (they tried to keep you waiting longer so they could entice you with tour guides, etc). Durty, durty and durty !!!, a lot of problems regarding the service, the wall and the rooms doors full of holes...missing towels and toilet paper...this is not an hotel !!!! We stay in easy going hotel family driven and there were thousand time better !!!!. Place is fqlling to bits no restaurqnt or bar as advertised.
