1. Perfectly restored old colonial building!!! Close to Zocalo and all the atractions of Oaxaca. 2. incredible atmosphere , staff went out of their way to take care of us-we didn't even have to go to the reception to pick up fresh cleaned laundry. all reviews » I loved the centralized location of this hotel. It was one block away from Santo Domingo, one block away from the Avenida Turistica, and 3 blocks away from the Zocalo. Perfect walking distance to everything! The hotel itself was superbly clean and the staff was extremely nice. I did eat at the hotel, and the food was authentic, tasty, and decently priced in comparison with other restaurants in the area. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Oaxaca. The staff was excellent! We felt like family from the time we arrived. Special thanks to Luiz who went above the call of duty at all times. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. We spent out first night in a Junior Suite with a balcony but moved the next day due to street noise. All the inside rooms are very quiet. Wifi didn't quite reach our room...had to sit outside room for service. room did not have enough light and no windows. Restaurant is right outside some of the rooms so it might get a little loud if you intend to stay in late in the morning. There were many Mosquitos in our room which bit us a lot. The beds and pillows were too hard and very uncomfortable. The food for breakfast took way too long to be served- over 45 minutes!. Not that it was an issue for us, but the private toilet is not too "private" in the room... transparent semi open door, you can see everything from the sink... OK for a couple, but... The only things that I didn't like were: - no fridge in the room - the bathroom doesn't give any privacy (you can feel the smell and listen to everything) - you have to pay extra for parking hour car.
