A B&B with a very good atmosphere, in an excellent location in the historic centre in a art deco building, nicely furnished, very good breakfast, plus tea/coffee making facilities where you also can prepare your own food, very helpful and informed owner, reliable and cheap taxi service, a lot of books available. And, because our room was with separate private bathroom, it was very thoughtful to provide dressing gowns for the few steps to the bathroom.
all reviews » The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. We do not speak Spanish, and had not been in Mexico City before. They made restaurant and sightseeing suggestions and schedule the taxi back to the airport. The location is perfect for the historical district. We would definitely stay here again. We loved the hosts Davie and Eloisa. The security in the building was fabulous. The location couldn't be beat -- exactly between the Zocalo and the Palacio de Bellas Artes. Breakfasts were gourmet and healthful. David is a wealth of information. Excellent stay. David & Eloise are a lovely couple. When they were away, there was another family looking after us. They are also very friendly and helpful. We had a good time in this place and highly recommend to other travellers. The rooms with streetview are a bit noisy if someone wants to keep windows open at night (keeping them closed helps a lot, but it can get sticky as there is no fan). We would prfer the bathroom to be in the room but having our private bathroom just down the hall was fine. Individuals who are finicky about such things should consider regular hotels. A little hard to find at first but well worth seeking out this hidden gem!. Need directions after registering on finding room 102 after leaving elevator. The entrance isn't obvious from the street. But if you follow their directions (and maybe google street view in retrospect), then you will find it ok. Rooms on the street are a bit susceptible to noise despite the double glazed windows. Banging noise and walking on the wooden floors from 5 in the morning - 2nd floor. Reading lamps next to bed not useable for reading. Bathroom needs attention and towels replaced. Nothing. Nothing. No comment to make. Was a bit hard find initially. No signs at front of building. We had some issues with the hot/cold water in the shower but did not report it, it was not a big deal. Not a thing!. Nothing!. room too small and no air conditioning/fan in room. but not too hot so it was ok. The room has no fan and the insolation of the bathroom next door is flawed as well. B&B is located in an olde apartment building, and rooms are spread across it. Nothing. Our room was a bit shabby.
