The courtyard area was fabulous - a small oasis with gardens, a pool, a funky outdoor shower and hamocks. The staff were wonderful, willing to assist with any needs. The hotel is reminiscent of colonial Mexico - with lots of character. Location was awesome. The other guests were great too - people were all friendly. We even had dinner with a couple we met leaving for downtown Cancun at the same time.
all reviews » Staff were excellent very pleasant to deal with especially when my spanish was very limited.Breakfast was also delicious and served with a smile.Close to downtown area and if needed to get to hotel zone just had to hop onto one buses that go there through out the day which was located about 100m away.Bus cost 8.50 peso very cheap and there was always one ready available. . A wonderful oasis. Calm and quiet once inside. Nice spacious room, with fan and air conditioning. Fridge and kitchen area also in room. Lovely small pool with fantastic trees, plants, pots and small tables all around. Two nice hammocks in the shade. NIce eating area. Excellent eco-friendliness. Proximity (5 mins walk through 2 roundabouts) to ADO bus station. This was a lovely little oasis in the city, it is a great location from the bus station, but far from the beaches. An easy bus ride, if you want to go there. It is a lush compound, quiet and peaceful with a small pool. Room was clean and comfortable. Owner and staff were very nice. Rebooked to stay when I have tobe in Cancun. Great hotel, amazing staff and close proximity to Downtown Cancun and Hotel Zone. A cab drive to Downtown is about 3 to 5 dollars and a cab to hotel zone and beaches about 20 dollars. A must, take ferry to Isla de Mujeres for about 15 dollars round trip. The grounds of the hotel are absolutely beautiful, and fun to explore with young children. The rooms are clean and neat. We had no trouble getting adequate hot water and the room was cool enough. The coffee on the first morning was undrinkable, and barely drinkable on the second morning. This all lets the hotel down a lot as everything else is excellent. I could be picky, but really, why bother--it would take away from this place and if you want a clean, quiet, comfortable, friendly place you could not go wrong, proof being i made a reservation to return. . Nothing. The rooms are a bit nondescript after the lush beauty of the outside, but they are sufficiently comfortable. The area (downtown) was not very nice. Pool needs some evening lighting... one of our rooms smelled a bit musty damp but that is expected in this climate. Breakfast included but have to choose between tea/cofee and juice (~2€ extra) Spa was not available when I stayed. Would be nice if the hotel would have a little bar and/or a little shop. For instance, at the moment it's not possible to buy a Coke or a beer at the hotel. Paid my bill on exit and after I got home I saw an additional 100 peso charge was put through my credit card. Nothing. Would have liked to see more information about the Eco credentials and what they were doing. The way TV is installed. The viewing line is not at 90 degrees to the screen. No hot water. The rooms are not something special, they look like my grandmother's house 35 years ago. The location was not ideal, given the busy streets you have to cross to get anywhere if walking. Bottled water not included in price - the only hotel in 7 weeks of travel in Mexico where bottled water was not provided. Stingy breakfast attitude - you had to choose between juice and coffee/tea. If you wanted both, you had to pay extra. Being told that a room at the front overlooking the street was very tranquil - the street noise does intrude and earplugs are essential. Presumably, the rooms at the back do not have this problem. Shower head was faulty and sprayed water in every direction. Room smelled bad. Could not reach front desk by phone. Internet so slow almost useless.
