  Nice japanese style rooms. The hotel is on the main road but it is not noisy in the rooms. Good situated, next to the Shinkyo bridge, so you can easily reach the main attractions. Bus stop is in the front. The onsen area is nice. - Close to temples but we could have easily parked there as it was not busy.   I was picked up at the train station and immediately given some maps and tips for sightseeing. The place is managed by a very nice family, is very relaxed and the food, both dinner and breakfast was amazing!! Several courses dinner with delicious local food presented in an upscale quality.   The location of the hotel was a huge plus. It was directly across the street from the jr Nikko train station, and a short walk from the Nikko Tobu station. For those without a car, you can catch a bus to the onsens/lake area, or to the temples (although walking to the temples from the hotel only took approximately 25-30 minutes). I enjoyed the breakfast which you had a ch - This hotel is the perfect place to stay if you are arriving and departing Nikko by rail - It is right across the road from the JR station, and only a 2-3 minute walk from the other station as well. We found this very convenient as it meant we didn't have to go far with our luggage, but it's good to be aware that it's about 2-2.5km from the main centre of Nikko and the world heritage sites, so it will be either a reasonable walk or a bus ride from the hotel to anywhere you want to go.   We spent 1 night in the hotel/Ryokan. Really nice to stay in quite a traditional accommodation. The staff spoke fair English, by Japanese standards. Was very cute that my name was up on a welcome sign and next to my shoe spot. The Japanese breakfast was a good experience, although I didn - When we checked in, we though that we will have a room with a bathroom. Nope! It has only toilet. And we needed to use hotel's common bath. It turned out to be a very good experience using Japanese common bath. It is very clean and very relaxing in hot tub. My second favorite is Japanese gourmet, both dinner and breakfast. They are big meal, I must say. They serve a local specialty called Yuba, which are dishes made from Tofu. Not bad at all.
