The rooms were compact, but contained everything required. The location was within walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, temples, the Nishiki market and surrounding shopping streets/department stores, Gion, as well as Kyoto station (more great shopping!), and was also very close to lots of public transport. Staff were very helpful with suggestions/directions, and when I fell sick one night after all drugstores were closed they happily gave me appropriate medicine. Most had good Engli.
all reviews » Solid value for the money, particularly for a solo or business traveler. Not a lot of frills when it comes to the rooms and restaurant, but the public bath and relaxation room, plus the professionalism of the staff, make it well worth it. It is a bit of a walk from neighborhoods that have a lot of eating and shopping options, but in exchange, it is quite while remaining central. Bicycle rental is convenient. The hotel is located with a good location and the staffs are really energetic to solve all the problems. Breakfast is so terrific especially recommend to vegetarian people! And the hot spring is one of the extra bonus for people live in this hotel. The hotel even within someone who become the travel adviser near the lobby. Excellent service,even have a notes board show the red leaves index along Kyoto! Love their public bath area, and the room is clean with air Air Purifier & Humidifier! With supermarket just cross the street and can take bus no.55 Stop at the front door of the hoteL from Kyoto station!. There is nothing else you need from this place. The room was equipped with every thing I was looking for, with clean and peaceful atmosphere. Also, the hotel was located in a good area, which can be access by both subway or public bus. Comfortable room, helpful staff and fairly decently located near shijo station. Within 15 min walking distance to Nishiki market and kawaramachi area ( and a further 5-7 min walk to Gion Shijo area). Main shopping area very close by. Buses to all the major tourist spots around the corner. You can buy an all day bus pass from the front desk. Location, design and warm feel made for a great stay. The public bath was great and we really appreciated that we were provided a bigger room at check-in without even asking. Complimentary nail clippers and sewing kit were also very much appreciated. The public baths in the hotel were available to guests on the condition of not having tattoos. This is fairly common across Japan, I believe, but despite only having small, fairly inconspicuous tattoos it made me feel that I couldn't use this facility comfortably. It's centrally located in Kyoto, but about three large blocks from the nearest subway station, so a little far if carrying luggage. It's also not right in the heart of shopping and restaurants, but about 10-15 minutes' walk to Nishiki and Kawaramachi where you will be spoiled with choices. The boiled water bottle is a bit old. The public bath is crowd ard 9:00pm however, other that period of time, you can almost use the public bath alone!. This place might be a bit not comvenient for those who carry big luggages. There are two hotels with the same name pretty close together. Make sure you tell the cab driver the suburb as well as the hotel name. We had trouble with laundry - particularly the drying machines. No matter how many times we used the machine, our clothes stayed wet. We tried every machine and spent 1000 yen in total on drying machines but it did not work. We wound up wasting a lot of time and having to let our clothes air dry in the room. Either the machines were broken or more instructions were needed. Nothing much. Maybe the bad connection of wifi in room? But when you are on a pleasure trip, why do you still have to keep yourself busy with the internet? Put down your cell phone, and just relax. International breakfast not so good. Couldn't extend our stay because it was too popular. Out room was by the lift, which could be a little noisy if you're a light sleeper, but really wasn't bad. The lack of more power points to charge the many devices. Room smelled strongly of smoke. Very small room but typical of Japan. Public bath gets very crowded. no yet. Central location but not as near to tourist locations as we thought but then price & value for money very good indeed. Breakfast is poor And quite bad. Check in time too late. not yet. The room was quite small but for one person was ok. Somebody called me at night. - took me some time to find it and a long walk from station. maybe a signboard showing the direction to the hotel at the main road will be best to show the guest that took the train. There was not a safe inside the room. The breakfast restaurant is quite old, noisy and unpleasant. Breakfast, despite what we were charged, not amazing. I did ask for a non smoking room and instead I was accomodated in a smoking room which smelled rather badly... Inconvenient location, far from train station if dragging luggages. No complementary drinking water provided. Cater more to local than tourists. The room are pocky and claustrophobic. The beds were like sleeping on a rock. Too small bed and rooms.
