The room was great! I stayed in a twin bed room and it was spacious, with a beautiful and classy design. The beds were very confortable, the amenites were good and they had free wifi in the room, which is great! Even their toilet was the most high-tech I have seen in a hotel in Japan. They give you a bottle of water if you chose not to change your sheets every night, and that's really nice and eco-friendly. Granvia really looks like a 5 star hotel and the price were great! The best deal I made .
all reviews » Got off the Shinkansen, walked out the doors of the station and I was there. Excellent. Staff was helpful in giving directions to tourist sites and provided maps as well. Checked out early in the morning and the hotel stored our luggage until we came back from touring at 3 pm. Then it was quick and easy to walk for a minute and be back in the station, waiting for our next train. I would highly recommend this hotel. Wonderful hotel,we had a "standard double" which any other hotel would have described as "deluxe". Big,well appointed room with big comfy bed and a seating area,excellent bathroom, big tv and even some english language stations.We had asked for a quiet room and were very happy with the top floor location and view, as well as the convenience of being able to access the station directly from the 2nd floor of the hotel. The location - upon arrival, it is a 2-minute walk to the hotel lobby. The JR sightseeing loop bus stops right in front of the hotel. The station complex also has a wide array of dining options and convenience stores. We asked for an extra bed during our on-line booking, and the room was ready with the extra bed when we arrived. All the essentials were in threes. Check-in and check-out was quick. Our stay was a one night whistle-stop visit. Being located at Hiroshima station made it very convenient with easy access to all city sights via trams and trains. We even got an early check-in. Check-out was at a very convenient 12 Noon. Luggage could be kept at the hotel after checkout adding to convenience. Our rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Highly recommended. The hotel is conveniently located just next to the main railway station, which also provides dining options, and the airport shuttle bus stop. To the downtown area, it's just a 20 minutes walk or a few stops with the tram which stops at the other side of the railway station. The room's view out of the 19th floor was good and the bed allowed a good night's rest. No unwanted surprises. What I booked in regards to room set up (based on pictures provided by hotel) in letsbookhotel.com is what I got. Wi-Fi provided in the room which allowed me to use my other devices. Arrived early for chec-in and hotel was very accomodating in holding our luggage. When we returned to check in, luggage already placed in our room. Very good location just near JR station, big comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff. We asked to explain us where we can eat good economiaki, so the guy instead to explain just took us directly to the place (which was on the 6th floor of some building, everything in Japanese, no chance to find it along). Perfect location, hotel is directly connected to the Shinkanzen line, so you may arrive late, get comfortably into your room and once you are leaving, keep your luggage in the hotel, go and explore the city and hop comfortably onto the train in the evening. Very curteous staff. Great hotel conveniently located right next to the station so it's an easy trip out to both Nara on the JR line and the Peace Museum on the streetcar. Rooms were clean and a decent size by Japanese standards and the staff was very helpful. This was excellent value too. This room was exceptional for a western traveller. Staff spoke English, room was perfect, free WiFi was great. Location unbeatable. The hotel across the way (Sheraton) was more expensive and no free WiFi (my parents stayed there and were disappointed). Small twin room. Excellent location just a minute from the main Hiroshima jr station. Room was clean and functional, albeit somewhat claustrophobic. Powerful hot shower, however, would have been better if there was an extractor fan in the bathroom. Room is a comfortable size by Japanese standard, toiletries and shower facilities excellent. Our room was right in front of the elevator hall, so we could hear the sound it makes when it gets to your level. The hotel should consider put the volume down or have better sound proof doors. I don't have problem to sleep, so that didn't bother me at night, but if you have difficulties to sleep, make sure to ask a room away from the elevator hall. As with every other hotel we've stayed in Japan, beds only ever have a doona. No separate sheet or blanket, so too hot for summer, even when the air-con is on. We coped by taking the doona out of it's cover and just using that, but would have preferred a light blanket as well. In the middle of the night, you might hear the faint rumbling of the train. The sound is not intrusive normally; however, light sleepers might want to take note. There is no safe deposit box in the room. Only green tea sachets were given for beverage. All TV channels that we had access to were in Japanese. Why do most Japanese hotels only have rooms for two? Accommodation for four in connected rooms would have been better. My wife did not like the firm pillows but I found them very comfortable. The staff's command in English could be improved. The room urgently needs some renovation to bring it up to date. There are only a few Japanese TV-programmes, nothing English except for the daily newspaper. There could be done a bit more to cater for international travellers. Hotel restaurant only provided buffet breakfast which doesn't work for my senior parents who don't eat too much. Not worth the cost. The room is really small - however ok for a short stay. I would expect a gym in a 4 star hotel, had to skip my morning fitness routine. While connected to the Hiroshima station this great jr WEST's hotel is located at the north exit when everything is located south. With a jr pass, it's not a big issue as you can walk freely via the gate by showing the pass... But with without it, I guess that one will have to walk underway, somehow, to commute from the north to south exit and vice versa (Station is quite big). Would book it again tought... my best hotel in Japan so far (5 weeks travel). Nothing. Having to leave!. Nothing!. Bed too small even for short couples. Breakfast option per person quite expensive. No workout facilities. no pool. Nothing. Its a fine hotel worthy of the Granvia standard. Capacity breakfast restaurant not sufficient at peak times. no criticisms. Nothing. The restaurants in the Hotel were very expensive including the breakfast - so we didn't try this. But there are cheap restaurants in the station or a supermarket across the road. The room was a bit small but this was expected in Japan. Breakfast not included. Not sure why it is that there is this urine smell in both bathrooms... Breakfast area a bit dated. No claim!.
