Casa Sant'Andrea is a former monastery that was renovated to become a typical Venetian Palace. It overlooks the canal of Santa Chiara, close to Piazzale Roma. You can walk to Santa Lucia Train Station, and take advantage of the nearby water-bus stop to visit the rest of Venice. The rooms at the Sant'Andrea are functional and comfortable. Some rooms are en suite and some share a bathroom. A shared lounge area with a TV is available.

We stayed at casa sain't andrea a day before our cruise. Location is perfect, only few minutes walk from P. roma to our hotel and like walking around a building where we catch our shuttle, people's mover to our cruise ship. Vaporetto or water taxi is just outside the hotel. A grocery is close by where we bought our bottled water and food supply. We arrived early from the airport so they allowed us to store our luggages so we can start our tour. We chose to walk via academia to rialto and P. mar.
all reviews » Coming from the airport by bus around 9pm, this hotel was close to the drop off point which was useful with roller suitcases. We were greeted by a friendly man who made us welcome and up-graded our room to one that overlooked the canal. It was great waking up to the canal boats going about their business, after we had enjoyed a comfortable nights sleep. Although simply furnished the room was clean and quaintly old-world with exposed beam look. The breakfast was great and plenty of it! The staff. The location is perfect. It is nearby one of the main vaperetto stations. Piazzale Roma. If you choose a hotel in the Venice center, you will hardly find it even with a map. Forget about the map mostly. :) There is a supermarket in the walking distance, maybe in 50 meters at most. We bought some things for the night and they gladly stored in their refrigerator. Helpful staff. There is a coin operated drink machine with normal prices. The shared toilet is clean although it was for 3 rooms. The b. Good location (near the railway and bus station, vaporetto station), its easy to find the hotel (for Venice its very important), room was very clean! Also breakfast was very good for europeanean standards (there were a lot of different types of coffee in coffee mashine, tea, orange and pineapple juices, croissants, rolls, butter, meat and cheese sliced, fruit and chocolate jam, flakes. It is very good that near the hotel was a big supermarket!. We arrived by cruise ship so the location was very handy, within walking distance (if you had only one piece of rolling luggage). Location was also great for access to bus (100m) and train station (200m) and the vaporetto (water-bus).(100m).Many restaurants nearby. Airport Shuttle bus very handy and cheap (6 euro). The hotel is an old converted monastery, not fancy but good. The family room containing four beds was spacious, semi-devided by closets providing more privacy and overlooking the canal. Quiet enough to have a good sleep. Centrally located for cruise and bus/train transportation to main land. Sufficient breakfast. Several rooms had to share bathroom in our booking - which we were prepared for. We may prefer private bathroom next time. While the room was spacious and clean, the staff friendly and the included breakfast plentiful - we found the location to be most appealing. Accessible by bus and water taxi, walking distance to St.Mark's square and the Rialto bridge and for us - who were leaving on a cruise from there, a one minute walk to the People Mover which took us directly to the port for 1 euro. Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was very clean but basic, the breakfast was eat as much as you like with plenty of drink choices. The location was excellent couldn't get much better, only 150yds from bus station and cruise terminal. situated on the canal, the water bus stops right outside the hotel.Would definitly recommend and will stay again. Good breakfast', air conditioning and quiet at night. I'd stay again. The hotel is easy to find, near the bus terminal Piazalle Roma and the train station Santa Lucia. It's not in the middle of the messy Venice and when you are in the muddle you can eadily come back to the hotel following the P. Roma signs. The hotel was quite close from the Santa Lucia station, but if you prefer to walk, you have to cross the bridge of Costituzione. I suggest if you bring heavy luggage, you better take the water bus in front of the station to Santa Chiara. The receptionist was not very nice, maybe because he couldn't speak English very well. The room is a bit small but we didn't care it a lot actually. -no elevator -electrical outlets used round three pin format, not usual European round two pin. -free breakfast didn't start till 0730 (we had to leave for airport by 0700, so missed it). Our daughter thought it a bit scary to go to the bathroom alone at risk to bump into other people and not speaking their language. However it became "an adventure" for just one night which was good experience. You have to drag along all you luggage over a bridge if you are not ready to pay for 7 euro for boat-bus. 2. Share shower room though, so it could be problem in the morning and late evening. nothing. Showers were VERY small. No access to a window in rooms not so nice. No ice. The breakfast could have done with a little more variety. Toalets outside the room. not really!. Had to ask for hair dryer. Did not have a 220 / 110 voltage converter available. No TV. No lounge No TV Wifi didn't work Air-conditioning didn't work. Messy neighbours in the shared bathroom but nothing the hotel could do about that. Almost like a maze to get to room. Going up the stairs to get to your room. Nothing. stairs. Having to hand your keys in every time you went out. no tv. There were some bugs (dead mosquitos) in the shared bathroom and the light censor on the stairs was quite slow.
