Relais 6 Via Tolmino is an elegant 1930s building in a pleasant residential neighbourhood in Rome. It features cosy lounges, an outdoor terrace and gym. The city centre is a 15-minute bus ride away. Once a wartime hideaway, Relais 6 later became the headquarters for Allied intelligence during World War II. It now has an interesting exhibition of original war artefacts. Rooms are bright, spacious and air conditioned. They come with free Wi-Fi, an LCD TV and a minibar. Each one has a private bathroom with hairdryer and toiletries. A buffet breakfast and made to order coffee and cappuccino are served each morning. In summer, breakfast can be enjoyed out in the courtyard with fountain. Drinks and snacks are available throughout the day and there are plenty of good restaurants in the area for dinner. The impressive Villa Torlonia is 2 minutes' walk away, while you have great bus links along Via Nomentana to the centre and Termini Train Station.

Excellent staff, from reception to breakfast, just excellent!!! Perfect value for money hotel!!! Rome has many hotels in restored old buildings but this should be the model of keeping all the atmosphere of old ages and giving all the now days comfort and facilities..Really good breakfast (great breakfast time too- 8:00-10:30). Walking from there to Rome's center is a good 1 hour journey throught beautιful buildings that you have to do it once! In 3 min walk ther is Sant'Agnese/Annibaliano metro.
all reviews » What a lovely hotel. Friendly helpful staff who made you feel so welcome. The room was small but well decorated with air con and free safe. Just a note for others, we spent two days in darkness without realising you could open the heavy shutters over the windows by pressing a button next to the bed!! Breakfast was plentiful with scrambled eggs as well as continental style food. The hotel is not in central rome but only a 10 min walk from a new metro stop S Agnes which takes you to central rome . The room was amazing.....we were upgraded to a junior suite and there was so much room and the suite was extremely well-appointed and beautiful. Cocktail hour was casual, friendly and made you feel connected to the hotel. The breakfast buffet was the best and widest variety I have ever seen. Thank you, thank you for the scrambled and hard boiled eggs!! Amazing historical collection of artifacts that, again, truly personalized the experience of this hotel. The hotel is placed in a quiet area of Rome, far from noisy traffic and crowded places. The hotel itself is quiet, hospitable, clean, nicely decorated. The room, even though it was small (in my case this was according to the expectations), was clean (and kept like this daily) and all the facilities in it were working properly. In my experience Rome is an expensive city, this hotel is a real find: good value, elegant and has a luxurious feel without the luxury price tag. This hotel is like a B&B, although it has 29 rooms it is very homi and cozy. The location is perfect, just a few bus stops away or metro. It is nice to get away from the main tourist areas in the center of Rome. Also, there are a lot of great restaurants in walking distance at very reasonable prices (where 95% of locals eat) The area is very upscale making it great for a stroll after those yummy Italian meals. A really lovely hotel in an excellent, quiet location, surrounded by trees and other beautiful buildings, yet easy to access by metro or bus. Direct metro to the Colosseum. Direct bus to Piazza Navona etc. There is a super little bar and sitting room, a roof terrace with gym and excellent breakfast. Would definitely go back. After staying there we understand why this hotel has so brilliant rating. The neighborhood was residential and quiet. Not a crazy tourist area. We had our best meals in the restaurants in this area - not a lot of choices but all were good. Easy bus/metro availability to get to the tourist areas and experience ancient Rome. We are coming back to Rome tomorrow night for our last night in Italy and tried to change our hotel reservation to the Relais. Sadly, I don't believe there are any openings. The food served at breakfast was the same every morning. For a short 2-3 days travel this shouldn't be an issue, but for a longer stay (6-7 nights - like in my case) it could become boring. The breakfast although being similar to most European ones, it could use some improvement. Cannot say anything bad, really good hotel. We decided to change our reservation for our last night in Italy from here to a hotel closer to the Termini Station - this made it possible to visit a few of the sites at night more easily as well as get less expensive transportation in the early morning for our flight home. Nothing!. They had no english tv channels, BBC or a news channel would have been nice. My one and only issue is that the desk staff only recommended a private transportation service from the hotel going to the airport at 60 Euros, instead of the typical hotel/airport shuttle service for 25 Euros which we used. While situated in a very nice part of Rome, it is a ways away from the central attractions. Breakfast could have been slightly more organised. Nothing. Hotel was very good. Location was say 7 mins walk from nearest tube, but perfectly fine for a daily trip into the city centre. Room was quite small but this is typical in Europe. shower could have been a little larger...but really everything else was very well done. A little further than I thought from the Vatican and the heart of the city. Nothing. Just a bit too far from the centre of Rome. Not a big issue for us, but the location is not central (approx 3km from centre), which limits evening dining options, although we had a couple of great reasonably priced meals locally. The new metro stn or bus stop are no more than 5 mins walk and only €1.5 e/W. Journey into the centre is approx 15 mins by metro. Taxi €10-12. Nothing, it was all good!. Limited breakfast choices. There was nothing I didn't like. A little out of Rome. But there's a new underground located a 5 min walk from hotel . Missed the full English, but when in Rome.... Nothing. Nothing. no tea making facilities in bedroom. no restaurant. A common failing I'm afraid - poor soundproofing between rooms and floors. Room was a little small for people with large cases. No iron in room or ironing facilities. Other hotels in Rome have an ironing room. Day tours left from the hotel early in the morning and unfortunately they were unable to provide breakfast before we left. They gave biscuits and jam instead. Breakfast was fair!. The location is residential. The metro is a bit of a walk away, as are local restaurants. Bit far out of the centre (but only a 10 minute walk from a metro station, which is only 15 minutes from the centre. Express buses to the main station just a 2 minute walk away.). Nothing.
