We loved the hotel and the staff!. We stayed on two separate occasions and had two different rooms, both lovely. The staff was always professional and ready to assist in any way. The recommendations for restaurants outside the hotel were good and located near the hotel, for convenience sake. We would definitely recommend the hotel to our friends and relatives. The staff were friendly and our room was beautiful - the breakfast was to die for - and i would definately stay there again.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful.The receptionist was charming and efficient, the building was beautiful. Staff very heplful. There is really nothing we did not like about the hotel except the cost of dining in the hotel. The food, selection and service were wonderful. However, we did think the price a bit steep for Pisa. I doubt if we would dine in the hotel in the future, eventhough we would stay there. Front desk staff was not particularly helpful when we asked about how to take a bus to the train station.Price of evening meals. Breakfast could have been better than self service for a 5 star hotel. Receiving a middle of the night wake up call which was not for us! Surprised not to have received a personal apology the next day. For 5* the dining costs were steep. The dining room was a greenhouse on a concrete base not 5* - Dining room therefore not particularly impressive. Room air con did not work but wasnt too much of a bother in September.The service by staff at the reception desk is a bit haphazard. They have a strange system where you have to phone the main reception to have the airconditioning changed in your room and the aircon is very noisy. The ventilation in the bathroom was by natural convection which meant it was smelly - it would have been better if aided by an electric fan. We thought the breakfast was poor, a pot of coffee per person would be better that having to keep asking for a cup. Toaster would be appreciated also. We also found that 8 euros was a bit excessive for one small bottle of local beer, this stopped us using the hotel bar in the evening. Bedroom was small. Standard room a little small for 5 stars. Prices level in hotels restaurant. Though the room was well apponited it was small and difficult to move around in. It did not appear to have the facilities and services that I would expect of a 5 star hotel. There were a number of difficulties with service, and for the price we paid for a junior suite we were surprised at how small and basic the room was.The room (standard double)was extremely small, and the breakfast buffet was very meagre, the waiters did not seem to be able to cope. This is not a 5 star hotel!! Bed sheets were worn through, extra blanket very old. Headboard covered in dust. Deluxe room tiny. Bathroom also tiny and no adjustment available to water temperature in shower. Air conditioning noisy and not adjustable from the room.
