After reading horror stories of small rooms and inconsistent service in
Venice, we intentionally looked for a room with updates and some space
and Carnival delivered both. Check in was easy and quick! The hotel was
in the quite end of town and away from the crowd. It is also a very
short distance (5min) to the public transportation dock and maybe 15 min
walk to the train station. Rooms very modern and clean. Hot water all

An easy walk from Piazzale Roma bus station and Santa Lucia train station (no boat to catch, no dragging suitcases through the heavy tourist traffic). There was absolutely no noise from the train station or the canal adjacent the apartments.

The apartment was a lovely surprise. The building is quite new on two levels curving around a canal with a residential piazza at the front. The apartment we had is upstairs, sparkling clean, light, comfortable and well equipped. It is located a 10 minute walk from the station. We couldn't find it immediately but on the second walk past we realised that each house has its own number in the locality, rather than a street number. It's hard to find decent prices in Venice for an ensuite room within walking distance from the train station. That said, Alloggi Sardegna was a very good option.
Lady in reception couldn't speak english but we were able to understand her italian. She was very kind all times.
Room and bathroom had good space. Breakfast was basic but with an excellent italian coffee -- served in our room every morning.

The staff at Ca'San Giorgio was very accommodating and friendly. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. There is free tea, coffee, and cookies 24h in the lobby and the free breakfast is perfect. The hotel has every amenity you could possibly want. The location is great - not very close to the attractions but less than a 15 minute walk to any of the major landmarks.
