A friend and I stayed at Hotel Canal Grande for three glorious days in February. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the central bus station. You can take a direct bus from Marco Polo Airport to this station for 6 euro. Ask for directions to the hotel once you arrive at the station. The walk is no more than 10 minutes. The hotel itself is situated on a small quiet square with absolutely no traffic, which means the hotel is quiet and a good night’s sleep is almost guaran.

Отдельное спасибо итальянскому персоналу- они сделали вс. Reception were extraordinary. Without asking the lady pulled out a map n marked the important locations. Upgraded to Junior suite magnicifant.. The interior is one of a kind. There are 3 tables for breakfast in the Terrance facing the canal, don't miss it! Breakfast though is standard, consider urself at home. 7 mins walking from the main station.. When u leave the station turn left n go over the bridge (huge luggage will be tiring) then continue straight n take the 2nd left n over a small brid. Canal Grande is an oasis in the middle of bustling Venice. It sits right on the Grand Canal but on the 'other side'. It's a 5 minute walk from the train station so very easy to get to. The staff were so friendly and helpful and suggested some good restaurants - try ' Antica Besseta'. We had a grand room with canal views. Each morning we breakfasted on the little jetty right on the water ( it was a little nippy, as it was November!). If we ever get back to Venice, we will definitely stay at Hote. Every member of staff was welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Our room was really, really special. It was not large, but it was beautiful and so clean and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was spotless and luxurious. The position of the hotel on the Grand Canal and so close to the railway station was excellent. Our room was so quiet, we did not here anything or anyone once in the room. Very friendly staff who were very helpful to explain how to get around Venice, places to go etc and happy to book restaurants etc. Breakfast was good, rooms were well decorated and excellent outside seating area on canal. 5-10 minute walk from train station 20 minute walk to main sights but good restaurants etc nearby. The hotel is right on the Grand Canal but still tucked away from hustle and bustle. Breakfast was buffet style, but very satisfying. Loved the decor, next to the canal, close to train & Bus station & valporettos, warm, welcoming, clean, lovely breakfast, helpful staff, great service & the room was really quiet unlike most hotels where you hear doors going all night!. Well, the staff at this hotel was, by far, the most friendly and helpful we've ever experienced. The rooms were named after people and created an atmosphere , even before entering...my room was the Casanova room :) The service was first class, the view was incredible and the breakfast was excellent. Private taxi can be arranged from the Hotel but will cost you. That we had to leave !. Room was in the annexe, which although quiet was separate from the main hotel , with no view and we ad to go outside to get to breakfast. hard uncomfortable pillows!. Air conditioning didn't work. Finding it for the 1st time can be tough, if you're walking. Here's a hint, #1 find the train station, #2 go over the bridge (over the Grand Canal) in front of the train station, #3 continue straight down the alley over the bridge, #4 take the 2nd left (a smaller alley) and go over one small canal, #5 go past the church and take the 1st left into the large courtyard, #6 the Canal Grande is on your right, at the end of the courtyard, on the Grand Canal. Enjoy!. Nothing that the hotel could improve. Spot on!. Book it its great. Our room was in the annexe, on the ground floor. We had no view and little light from windows. This is Venice so its expensive!. Distance from main tourist areas. We chose a room with canal view, expecting the room could be directly facing the water. Like in the picture on the web, but it's not. We find out our room is on the side of the building with only a side- way view of the canal. I think it is slightly misleading by the picture they use. we went there in the carneval time so the price is a bit high for the standard of the room, but i guess it's just Venice. Room card holder made a very irritating clicking sound at regular intervals. Nothing to report here. Nothing to say..!. Beds a little hard Location a little more quiet area. There wasn't anything we didn't like. It was perfect. There is nothing I didn't like, however, there is a slight problem. The reservation was paid for in advance and the day after we checked out they charged my card again. I emailed them but with the language barrier I don't think they understood. When I get home I will have to put in a dispute with my credit card company. I was hoping they would just credit my card as I am sure it was just an over site. Tough getting luggage over to hotel. May be that way for any hotel but we paid porter $20 Euro to take bags over large bridge with steps to hotel. Did same on return. Wish hotel had water taxi pick you up as a free service. Not been able to stay longer. Rear of hotel where our room was located has no interior connection to the front of the hotel. Didnt stay long enough!. Getting there from station with luggage up and down stairs. Needed a porter service. Adequate size rooms, but not very large. Unfortunately the hotel had over booked and had to ask us to stay at the sister hotel round the corner for 2/3 nights of out stay. The other hotel was nice too and everyone went out of there way to make sure we were happy. Breakfast area a bit too crowded. No free water bottle in the room. Breakfast should be better. Had to pay wxtra for cooked breakfast which considering the cost of rooms is ridiculous. Nothing. TV channels limited. nothing worth mentioning.
