Hotel was gorgeous just like what you see on website.. Staff where friendly enough. I was surprised when we arrived at our room that it was the same as on your website. Usually there is always a let down once getting to your room, its never usuaully the same as it was decribed and visually placed on the website. Pool was amzing a nice relaxed feel to the place. Hotel, room, dressing room , pool was spotless. Both myself and partner where really happy with the place and will defo be visiting aga.
all reviews » A lovely hotel just a short walk into the town centre. The staff really could not do enough for us, they were probably one of the best hotel staff we have ever experienced. They definitely went beyond what they needed to. The hotel is lovely and clean and modern. The rooms were lovely and big, think we stopped in a deluxe. The breakfast was also very nice. There was a spa but we didn't have time to use it. Highly recommend this hotel - we will definitely be going back!!. The room decor was very nice & modern. Loved the pink & white antique style, different than the usual standard hotel colours. Staff were excellent - receptionists very nice & friendly, and a tall man who brought us dressing gowns to our room and replaced the bulb in our bedside lamp efficiently. Leisure centre was also nice. Decor of entire hotel was fab. The bed! Was amazing. I'm not sure if it was a memory foam mattress but it was a great night’s sleep! The pillows and the décor in the room were just beautiful. Breakfast was so fresh (no scrimping at all) but what really made it was the young girls and guys that worked breakfast that morning - excellent home grown, high class staff – highly attentive. Myself and my partner stayed here on a midweek break this week and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hotel itslef is beautiful + stylish, the location is perfect too! The bar staff in particular were very friendly and nothing was any trouble! Dinner in the bar was excellent! We will definately be returning in early 2014!!. A superb hotel that you did not need to leave if you didn't want too as it has everything on site. The hotel itself was luxurious and the staff were brilliant - we had a wonderful stay there - would be back in a flash! Also just a 5 min taxi ride from the main town centre if you wanted to explore which is a must!!. Amazing customer service. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Gym and leisure facilities excellent. Just over 5 minute walk from town centre. One of the managers ( Mark) is of note. We attended for a family wedding. He ensured family members were catered for fully. Nothing was too much trouble. staff - whether on the phone or on arrival - could not have been more friendlier and lovely welcome on arrival. Lovely breakfast next morning and again staff to be complimented on friendliness! Even at 2.30 a.m. the staff were cheerful and getting a nightcap was not a problem!. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice large room, clean and well appointed. Good bar and food. Good location not far from the centre of town, which allowed a tour of most of the sights on foot in a fairly short time. The staff were very helpful ,the rooms have everything in them that you would need and the breakfast was lovely the hotel itself is very modern and I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone thinking of somewhere to stay in Kilkenny. Excellent service. Didn't eat there but had few drinks in bar. I read reviews b4 we went there and alot of people gave out bout 4pm checkin. I knew this b4 we went so no complaint there. Otherwise excellent stay and Def Wud go back. Well done. The staff were so good! I cannot fault them! The rooms were spacious and very clean and the bed was very comfortable! The facilities in the gym/pool were fab, very clean and quieter than I'd expected! I'll be returning soon!!. The hotel and it's surroundings were beautiful, so modern and classic at the same time. We had a delux double room which was huge with a nice view :) breakfast was also fab in the restaurant and service quick and efficient. We stays at the hotel kilkenny for 3 nights and some of our family came for 2 nights we found the staff very helpful,polite and they went out of the way to help us would highly recommend this Hotel for family's and couples. I liked the layout of the hotel. The bar food was very good quality and they gave large portions. The swimming pool had lane swimming which was a bonus for me. The steam room was a good size. Overall very relaxing. There was so much to do in Kilkenny we walked the feet of ourselves. People so friendly. We had brilliant weather. Hotel was fabulous staff very friendly could not do enough for you. I would go back again. Ann. The friendly staff made us feel so welcome. Was able to purchase swimsuit at the pool in order to use the so relaxing facilities. Generally lovely relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely return for another visit. The room was large and spotless. The bed extremely comfortable. The hotel has been maintained in a pristine condition. Food was lovely and the menu wasn't expensive. Free parking onsite is also a huge plus. Absolutely everything. Staff were amazing one in particular Laura deserves a special mention she was friendly professional and courteous. We also got a free room upgrade as it waa my boyfriend's 50 birthday. The receptionist was excellent and made me feel that my custom was appreciated. All of the staff were brilliant nothing was too much trouble for them.Ideally located within 5 minutes of Kilkenny shops easy to find.Breakfast first class Restaurant good value for the money. Hotel Kilkenny is a very nice design hotel with a direct access to pool and training facilities. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. Good facilities. Great location being an easy walk into town. Breakfast was very fresh and tasty. budget friendly great leisure centre extreme helpful manager......came around at breakfast to enquire if our stay was satisfactory. The 15 / 20 minute walk into the town. Nothing!!. Didn't like that we had to buy a hat for the leisure centre when we were guests at the hotel - I understand this should be policy for Active Club members, but I think they should be loaned free of charge to guests staying at the hotel. Only a small complaint though!. Ground floor with no 'net' curtains - you would have to have the curtains closed with the light on in fear of the gardener catching a peak. Nothing. €170 for one night!. No negatives. The distance from the town but its only a short distance away in a taxi. The breakfast was only okay... It appeared to be under a heat lamp for too long, but we ate it, it was okay but just not what we'd expected considering how good everything else about the hotel was!!. I really have nothing bad to say about this hotel everything was great... Maybe a larger tv more proportionate to the size of the room. Very small issue - the shower pressure was weak. nothing. The distance from the centre of Kilkenny makes it a bit far to walk after a bit of a night out, but that's really not a big issue, and more down to my laziness! Anyhow, all you need is in the hotel!. The bar lacks a bit of ambience, very open plan, grey, dark colours BUT staff very helpful and courteous. Noisy argument in corridor/door-slamming etc in middle of night. Continued for ages in room down the corridor despite security intervention. However, when I mentioned it at the desk next day, the receptionist was very apologetic and discounted my bill to compensate for the disturbance and for the annoyance caused by the pool generator which was right below my room. Ask for a room away from the pool!. The staff were lovely however when we were checking out the receptionist wasn't very friendly there was no thank you for your stay or any sort of acknowledgement. There was also a wedding party on and in the middle of the night there were people running and screaming through the corridor. We did not report it as it stopped after half an hour. spa was a bit of a let down , staff were v good but i thought there would be more facilities available ,. We were a little disappointed with two of the meals our party ordered on one of the nights we ate in the restaurant (same dish for both). However we spoke to the manager about it and he said he would pass our comments to the chef. He was very pleasant and professional about it. Some of the other room doors on my floor seemed to slam when closing!. No air-con in rooms, the hot weather resulted in discomfort and disrupted sleep. the only thing that really annoyed me was that it was a king room - BUT didn't have a king bed. Instead had 2 beds pushed together..... didn't really work for me as the beds were continually seperating which wasnt great. The curry we had in the restaurant was horrible and the steam room was smelly. Need a set down only area at hotel door for unloading luggage etc as it is a bit of a struggle from the car park area. Leisure centre was small and not in keeping with how stylish the hotel is. There should have been better options for hotel guests to use the pool etc. e.g flip flops, hats as there not something everyone would have with them. The pink chairs in the bedroom and also the cleaners did not come to clean our room until after 4pm at which time I was getting ready for the evening so turned them away - I think rooms should be cleaned in mornings. Was expecting a lot more from this hotel. The hall leading to our room was very tired and old and the room very just ok. I'm sure they have better rooms in the hotel than the one we stayed in. Lack is storage in rooms, lack of plug sockets, had to keep asking for cutlery at dinner it's minor but it's the little attention to detail :). room was just ok. Our rooor m was 109, which is on the ground floor which meant that we couldn't leave the window open when we went out. This was on 1 of the hottest days of the year. 4pm check in is too late. For that reason alone I would not make a return visit. I must however commend the reception staff who rang us before 4pm to let us know that the room was now ready. It was especially annoying that on the morning we were leaving the housekeeping staff wanted to clean the room at 9.15am!!. Our stay was too short here. Nothing to dislike. Nothing to comment on. Room was dusty and the carpet was not cleaned completely. During hot summer days it would be better if rooms had some air conditioning. Room quite hot. No air conditioning. Though it wasn't a long walk from the town, it was still slightly out of the way, especially from the train station, where we were heading.
