A very pretty Georgian home with many of the old ways respected. Suitable furniture and a very tasteful display of prints reflecting the period around the stairways and landings. The outer facade is impressive, with the two red doors boldly stating the presence of the house to the world. The pleasant charm of the proprietress, Evelyn, made for a particularly warm welcome and the room was most comfortable and I took pleasure in the distant hum of the city. I look forward to returning to Waterloo.
all reviews » Great location only a couple of kms from dublin's city centre yet set in a peaceful and quiet street in a lovely old building overlooking a garden out the back. Rooms were small yet cosy and very comfortable. Wifi worked in the rooms fine and free parking was very convenient. Breakfast was a mixture of a small buffet as well as a la carte meals and was excellent. Staff were very friendly and provided some excellent restaurant recommndations. Would highly recommend staying here we had a very rel. Comfortable room, lovely decor, very clean, extra friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, and they serve hot chocolate (great for those of us who don't drink tea or coffee).Also liked the front door security, the availability of books, travel info etc, wi-.fi, and the lounge area. It was a lovely Georgian style house with character and beautiful festive decorations. The rooms were nice and breakfast was delicious - homemade waffles hit the spot!. No frills but very clean and good value for money. We had a lovely three nights here. The hotel is very quiet, the breakfasts are excellent and the staff are very pleasant. Its cold cold cold and the walls are like wallpaper, even heard another guest break wind!. Parking limited. the small bed. Springs in the mattress were gone. Had to change room. No heating at night- room cold. Breakfast disappointing- no mushroom, soda, potato, or wheaten bread on cooked breakfast for an Irish guest house. No bath. Too expensive for what this guest house has to offer.
