The weather was freezing and the hotel was very warm. Plenty of hot water for a lovely hot bath. Friendly staff, They had all the information I needed for my stay, clean rooms, easy to find. Great breakfast! Good proximity (with parking) to city centre. Helpful front desk staff.cheery and helpful night porter and helpful daytime staff - great selection for breakfast. Convenience to city centre. Very close to city centre. Free car parking. well trained and friendly staff.Very clean. Professional staff. central location, lovely room. location. It was all very pleasant and it was an excellent breakfast. We found iton the website and have stayed there ever since on our visits to cork.Would fully recommend it.the staff were very friendly, and the room was very comfortable in a relaxing environment... Breakfast selection was lovely and well prepared. Hotel not far from City Centre. Staff were very helpful hotel very modern and clean and breakfastwas very good. The large rooms, the cleanliness, pleasant staff and excellent breakfast.Staff were excellent, and extreamly accomodating and helpful in every way. friendliness of the staff, cleanliness, good breakfast, quietness. location, frendly and helpful staff and very good breakfast. Nearness to city, friendly staff, great restaurant svs. Qietness of room. Water disenser in the corridor. Very clean and comfortable - Great Location. the night porter was very rude, as this was our second visit to this particular hotel it was a let down. in saying that i would still recomend this hotel on the basis that all the other staff had a fantastic work ethic. I dont think there could be. Its the best place Ive stayed at in four years of business travel.Nothing, we are absolutely thrilled to stay at Lancaster Lodge, and will come back there next time we come to Cork. Only the noise in the daytime at the back of the hotel where there is a builders yard.the duvets were too heavy, room was too hot. double bed was not very large. The door closers are quite tight and as a result - creates a loud banging noise whilst entering / exiting from the rooms. I did not appreciate being woken up by building wok commencing under my window in the early hours of the morning. I don't understand why a hotel which obviously takes trouble to provide excellent conditions for its guests pays little attention to the quality of the food it serves. I refer specifically to the sausages which were of the lowest possible auality. Only that they do not provide evening meals other than that perfect. I thought when we were booking that this hotel would have bar facilities but it did not. A little dissappointed but didn't make much difference as we were only staying 1 night. The room got a bit to hot, even with the heating off.no hot water in the shower on the morning we were leaving. Better directions needed to get to the hotel via one way system. The view. Its a shame they have no bar plenty of room to have one and I think itwill stop people booking the hotel because of this. As there is no bar or restaurant reception should have a list of recommended bars or restaurants in the area. Christmas decorations in hotel would have been nice!.

Information about the area
Cork was the European Capital of Culture for 2005, and as such it displays some beautiful and unique sights, including:
The church tower of Shandon - Dominating the North side of the city. It is known by locals as The Four-Faced Liar, as from the base of the building, each clock face appears to show a different time. Shandon is accessible to the public, and the bells may be rung by visitors.
St. Patrick Street - The main shopping street. Remodelled in the years up to 2004, it boasts striking buildings along its broad avenue.
County Hall Tower - The tallest building in the Republic of Ireland.
