The room was very large, clean, quiet, and nicely furnished. The hotel has a lovely view, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. it was a relaxing atmosphere, champagne, piano, music being played by the owners of the hotel. The new barman was polite, and attentive. entertainment. during a 2 night stay with family group of 4 couples we were made so welcome in a cozy atmosphere.With complimentary afternoon tea at 4, champaigne reception at 6,entertainment by Brian on piano after dinner, on a short break you need never leave hotel.Dinner and breakfast excellent served by lovely staff with constant attention by hosts Paul and Brian.From start to finish a great experience.
all reviews » Open fire and four poster bed made this room one of the most comfortable I have ever stayed in. We stayed at the 5 star Dromoland Castle the night after Abbeyglen, but would much prefer Abbeyglen for its overall charm and comfort. Great atmosphere crearted by owner/manager. made feel very welcome. the location and the hotel itself were just fabulous. An unusual, almost eccentric hotel, very appealing. Great atmosphere with open fires and comfortable lounges. Great room with four-poster bed.Food was excellent and the general surrondings. Excellent food and service. 4 poster bed,fireplace in the room, bathrobes, bath and shower, spacious room, lovely breakfast, cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, complimentary afternoon tea, beautiful surroundings.loved it!!!. the rooms were excellent.4 Poster bed, fireplace in the room, timber floor.tv,dvd player,couch. very nice.If you are looking for a getaway hotel for peace and time to yourself, this is the one!!. Many guests were regulars which created a slightly exclusive atmosphere. But, really, we had no serious complaints. It was very cold and although they promised to switch on heating, they didn't do so. The gas coal-effect fires were not capable of heating the place. Also, you can only go so far in making a virtue out of shabby decor. It needs to be redecorated.our room was facing north and was quite dark and had no view.south facing rooms much nicer. jacuzzi and sauna a bit of a joke, big gap in the door of the sauna!!. The leisure centre. Just a small room with a sauna and jacuzzi.The restaurant might need a redecoration. the general look of the hotel suggests thar it needs refurbishing, especially the dining room which was dirty with food littred around the radiators and edge of carpet.our shower door leaked water. The breakfast was terrible. The hotel is in serious update.
