My wife and I took 5 days vacation in Ubud. We stayed 2 nights here in The Purist. The overall environment and the room is amazing! Quiet, peacful, and clean. The Villia just so fit into natural. Staffs are very nice, friendly, and with smile all the time. And they won't "bother" you too much if you are looking for a peaceful stay. all reviews » The service was outstanding. Nothing was too difficult for the staff, and they were particularly helpful with preparing food for our 8 month old baby. Food is excellent and freshly sourced, but we were also provided details for take away pizza when we expressed a desire for different food. Finally, when we requested a late check out, we were permitted to move to a different villa until 3pm at no extra charge, this was extremely helpful given that we were travelling with a baby. The River Villa 1 room and setting were beautiful. All villas are very private. THe attentive service was outstanding. We had a very early flight in the morning so the staff served our breakfast at 2:45am and had packed us to go lunches. Peaceful surroundings. Beautiful design and architecure. Only complaint my wife had was the low level lighting in the bathroom wasn't conducive to applying makeup before we went out in the evening. The hotel is a little far away from ubud downtown. If you are city traveller, you should really think about it. Villa was lovely but very poor lighting (mood lighting taken to extremes!). Construction next door was noisy what makes it not so easy to relax with drilling sounds. Nothing except some (light) construction noise from where they're expanding the hotel. The neighbours are close! There was some construction work at the neighbouring property while we were staying. Chainsaws and hammers don't go well with afternoon naps. There were some small stains on the sofa which make me feel that the villa could have been cleaner. As it is a jungle behind our villa, there were quite a number of insects and ants in our villa. But these are small issues and we overall still enjoyed our stay there.
