  The hotel is a hidden gem in Medan city. It is in the center of everything (great to start your trip in Sumatra), but when you are at the hotel you cannot feel you are in the city. The design takes care of that. And being located above the shopping center and on top floors only help to escape the noise of the city, so don't be discouraged. Next to that, the swimming pool was lovely, however, I think it was not really normal for westerners to be there and just go and swim in western swimwear: bikini.

  A very nice place to stay: a haven of peace in the middle of busy Medan. Staying there feels like you are far, far away from the city. The rooms are good and clean. Airconditioning works well. Supplimentaries such as coffee, tea and bottles of water (definitively no tap water!!) are present. The swimming pool is nice and offers a panoramic view... what people say » over de garden below. Though some extra sun beds would have been welcome. The restaurant is situated on a higher part of the compound and has an open - Peaceful location and generally pleasant staff (particularly Ellie who was the best of them all). We took the trip to the Supiso Piso waterfall and were given an interesting full day tour, including views over the magnificent Lake Toba, by the Hotel's friendly driver. Swimming pool was refreshing and well worth a visit after all that sightseeing!

  The hospitality was excellent. The owner and wife personally welcome us, see us off and see to our needs. We love the generous portion of foods. The fresh, tender and tasty fish and chicken were super. My son who don't usually like fish eat a lot of it. Yummy! - comfortable stay

  This is my second stay at Hotel Sibayak. The greatest strength was the staff and particularly Angeline in the Medan office. As we had to change some dates (add a day to the stay) then reduce one room as 2 of the family did not show. They were very flexible with the changes. The hotel also arranged Mr. Yohanas as a guide for the succes - Very fresh air since Berastagi located at mountain area. So the hotel also have very very nice mountain background view with fog in the morning. Very big swimming pool but a bit chilly, good if they can warm the water since this is highland. Variety of food for the breakfast. My 11 members of the family booked one family cottage with rooms and one superior room. Spacious, very nice & clean rooms
