Great staffs - was welcomed with cold face towel to freshen up and a glass of mocktail drink. Pleasant, lovely front desk people. The room was spacious and the king bed was ultra-comfy. Bathroom was clean and functional. I got the room which was facing the Kartika Resort next door and it was very quiet and peaceful. No noise problem at all. Short walking distance to Centro / Discovery Mall and WaterBom.Have to walk further around 1km to reach central Kuta, Hard Rock Cafe and Beachwalk mall. Cu.
all reviews » We had a long stop over between flights before getting on a red-eye (and husband was sick), so we opted for a few hours in a comfortable hotel instead of waiting around. Best idea we've ever had. Hotel was very clean and comfortable and we were able to get a good rest before a long flight onwards. Only 5 minutes drive (depending on Kuta traffic) from the airport and price was excellent. Location is great and it was a shame Husband wasn't feeling better or we could have explored the area a bit. This is a really comfortable hotel when we needed somewhere to recharge the batteries having been on the Gili Islands. Really friendly staff, free wifi (reliable you just had to keep logging in), pool with a basketball hoop and a lovely buffet breakfast with loads of choice. Laundry was to a good standard but not cheap. It's very near the shopping mall and restaurant area and one end of the beach. Very near the airport - 15min drive. Location was great, always clean, staff and meals were of the highest quality, Michael (hotel manger) ran a very good facilty, Indi ( hotel receptionest) was lovely she did a fantasic job of looking after our tours, thanks heaps Indi, At this this present time I could think of no improvements, just dont let your maintenance of the resort slip, like most others and you will certainly get returning cliental Thanks. Hotel staffs were friendly, rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast spread was ok with different menu everyday. Hotel location is within 5 min walk to Discovery Shopping Mall and Waterbom. Also there is new shopping centre Lippomall nearby. Recommended this hotel to my friend and he like it too. Will definitely come back to this hotel for my next Bali trip. Excellent value for money. Explained the dramas we had at Seminyak and they were very accommodating, even giving us a free upgrade which was fabulous and unexpected! Very close to Kuta, variety of good restaurants around, great breakfast with lots of variety, definitely would stay here again!. I have stayed in this hotel twice in the past year and I think it is a great location, 10 min to airport, 10-15 min to Legian/Seminyak. Would recommend hotel. I really like concept of the hotel..Its kind like more to a modernised Balinese style..Friendly staffs,good food & location wise it much more easy access to either walk for a few minutes to reach the shopping mall & street hawkers.. I was extremely happy with sun island hotel ,there staff are friendly and welcoming.The staff was very helpfull they aloud us to check out at 1pm and have a spare room to freshen up at 6pm due to our late night flight departure. I loved the location i came back to the hotel in two days didnt like my other hotel it was in seminak area! Watar boom is 2 mnt away by walking and discovery mall is 2 mnts away by walk it has lots of rest. I loved the stay. Staff weren't expecting us (but we didn't wait long between booking and arriving so was probably our fault) and we also had issues on checkout where a young lady kept telling us we had to wait for them to check our room, even though we were only there a few hours, had paid cash on arrival and there was no mini bar in the room for them to worry about. Not really appreciated when you've got a plane to catch. She also told us she had booked us a taxi when she hadn't. We weren't massive fans of Kuta itself - having been to Ubud this didn't feel like authentic Bali with massive shopping malls, Starbucks etc. if we were surfers it would have been great though!. Nothing to dislike. No access to the beach from the hotel. There were mosquitoes in the room & we were badly bitten during the night! The hotel did supply mosquito electrics but these didn't seem to resolve the problem. We did stay in the hotel before & it did not have a problem with mosquitoes then. The pool is nice but it isn't good for sunbathing as the high buildings surrounding it mean that it does not get much sun!. The acoustics in the place are not very good, when the band is playing it sounds like they are playing in your room. If they can sort this out, then I couldn't fault this place at all!. WIFI was weak - May not be a hotel issue but a provider issue. Suggest have an internet set-up at some place in the hotel with 2-3 terminals. A staff member pounded on our door three times at about 4am insisting he had our "breakfast box." We hadn't ordered anything and found the interruption very unfortunate... If you want to extend your stay beyond check out hour (12:00) you need to pay a pricy tariff of 10usd per hour. We did as our flight was in the evening. No beach. Need to take extra care getting out of shower as only has half glass petition and water sprays on floor. Maybe due to some varieties food which is Non-Halal maybe but its actually fine with me though.. I was a bit anoid whenever I ordered room service they required payment at the same time when room service was delivered. I didnt like the noises that came from the pool every morning. The noise from the street was very loud.( motor bikes) was constant, early morning till very late. nothing. There was nothing not to like. I was booked pool view room at first floor direct in front of pool, abit noisy in the morning 7am when people swimming in the pool. Some rooms have shower in the bathtub, which is inconvenient and old fashioned (messy wet floor) Breakfast was too Western. The design of the shower left a flood of water after every shower, and the breakfast was very average, also the noise from each room could be heard through the walls. Room smell occasionally from bathroom, poor breakfast. could hear the room next door who were very noisy. Think this was due to the room being a family style with adjoining doors so hopefully not all rooms will have noisy neighbours. The internet was very low and I didnt like the breakfast!. The towel is not enough, looks like an old towel. The breakfast is very average and variety is poor, the only downfall at this hotel. The hotel has limitations, but good for transit. We don't like Kuta at all, be prefer Seminyak. I have problem with: * the smell of the bathroom at the first time we entered. The exhaust was not working perfectly. * the shower is too high. So, we cannot change the position of the water. It will be better if you can have handy shower. * slippery floor in the shower. N/A. - Rooms facing the street are quite noisy during the night (noisy from cars, motors even people's speaking). Nothing. It is fine on the whole. Bath poorly designed and leaks when using shower. Nothing bad about it. Bedsheets with stains/dirty and sometimes noisy people at night if you are staying on the swimming pool side. Wifi Wifi Wifi Wifi Kuta is a nice place . But you know , the most tour packages are around the UBUD area , like : monkey forest , active volcano , rafting , diving and ... , and its about 2 hours for each way to go to ubud and come back.it makes you tired But in overal kuta and sun Island must be try . Trashy streets around the hotel! Dangerous sidewalks!. Price of the food & drinks little high. Room for only 1 case, no drawers & more coathangers required. A basketball hoop is attached to the side of the bridge which goes over the pool & everytime the heavy rubber baller is thrown at the hoop the noise generated is echoed loud & clear throughout the rooms. Get rid of it.. Was shocked when drinks around & in the pool were served in glasses, this is a safety issue. I'm sure the pool wouldn't be emptied if one smashed...use plastic. Not so handy for the beach. Swimming pool overlooked by the bedrooms. Breakfast could have been more continental, pool closed too early and was very shallow. the WiFi connection is very poor and didn't enjoy the breakfast either. I left a make room sign on the door which was cleant by the house keeping but failed to changed the sheets of the bed ,I noticed a stain on the sheets before and after the room was cleaned.
