After only two days in Bali we decided to take the boat over to Gili Trawagan. We were very happy when our horse (!!) stopped outside Gili Eco Villas. The villas are situated on a beautiful location just ten minutes by horse from Gili "center". The aerea is very quiet and is the best option if you want to go to gili without staying in the most crouded place. On the opposite side of the little road is Gili Eco Villas own private beach. It is a white beach with sunbeds, a little bar, two small co.
all reviews » Stayed at villa 5 and had the most wonderful time. The resort itself is quiet, far from the maddening crowds of the East coast. When we visited the island was a bit dusty and dry but the villa was kept clean. The bedroom is a tad small but the living room, kitchen and bathroom provide more than enough open space. Totally loved the outdoor shower - imagine during clear nights, the light illuminating your bath is the moon up above. Loved the warmth and hospitality of the staff - they wouldn't thi. This was a truly romantic place to stay! We LOVED the aspect right across from their own private white sand beach, bar and tables where we had breakfast and a wonderfully romantic dinner served to us by incredibly friendly staff who were always laughing and so, so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for every staff member of this wondeful place. Our villa was also amazing and so ultra comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere - loved the fresh-air bathroom and the open plan living area over-looki. Gili Eco villas is secret tucked away in paradise. The location was quiet and isolated away from all the hustle and bustle of the jetty area. The beach was pristine and you did not need to go far for wonderful coral reefs and amazing white sandy coral beaches. Truly a wonderful stay for us. We couldnt be more thankful to the staff members all of whom had displayed great hospitality and importantly smiled all the time. Food was great and the billas were very comfortable. We loved being just far away enough from the "party district" to have a quiet getaway, but close enough to go out and enjoy the restaurants and shopping. The breakfast was simple and lovely. The villa was supplied with a large bottled water dispenser which saved a huge amount of plastic waste as we would have gone through massive amounts of 1.25L bottles. The staff were really nice...a big shout out and special thumbs up to Yan :-D. We stayed in a 3 bed two storey villa which was situated in beautiful grounds and very private. The location of Gili Eco Villas was superb, quieter and more relaxing than by the harbour, we were able to watch the wonderful sunsets over Bali. All the staff were amazing, extremely friendly and helpful - it was a dream holiday - thank you Gili Eco Villas. The location is amazing and the people can not do enough for you , I would go back ther again but be aware it is very rustic and no tv what is a good thing and fear enough away from all the hustle of the other side . Nice clean place, excellent patio with an outdoor cooking range ,dining table and couch. There are some corners in the villa that needed better upkeep and the sheets / mosquito net could use a bit of whitening and mending but apart from that, the entire place was wonderful. There was nothing to fault. Nothing at all. The very soft dusty sandy road fronting such beautiful resorts on the northern part of the island seemed out of place, because the rest of the island, even some remote parts had paving. There wasn't anything that I didn't like about Gili Eco Villas, my family and I would definitely stay there again. Nothing really. nothing at all. Can't really think of anything much. Perhaps it would have been good to have a little tap at the front steps of the villa to wash sand off our feet right before we get into the villa sometimes. Multi grain toast for breakfast rather than 'white' kinds of bread. These are small things and didn't detract from our stay though. Nothing. Large gecko (15cm long) in our room keeping us up during the night. Whilst this is normal in the tropics there are a number of gaps in windows and between the roof and the wall where the geckos can get in. beach is not so nice at low tide. small breakfast. location is far from gili trawangan central / harbour. if you want to stay here, make sure you want silence . uncontrolled hot water, leaking roof, wet stove (rain from 2nd floor). non. Too far away ( no cars so its a long lonely dark walk at night) Expenisve for what they offer.(no hair drier) actual bedroom was a bit cramped Patio and the bathroom was top notch.
