The hotel are really neat and wonderful,the location is very convenient to access anywhere in Hong Kong.And the staff here are 24 hours on duty,that's why I feel safe and they are friendly.The deluxe room the hotel give me same the pictures in their web-site. The place are brilliant and clean,like the paradise for backpackers,especially for backpacers.The staff are very kind and try their best to fulfill your request.The price is CHEAP!!!.

Value for my money...very clean. the receptionist is very friendly. It is worth the money staying in Hong Kong. Everything ok, the room also quite clean. The person incharge got mail me his photo so we can find the place easily because we saw him standing infront of the main entrance. friendliness of staff and hot water. It was very clean and quiet. The receptionist was very friendly and was a welcome sight in a ratheruncomfortable building. (More on that below) He made me feel safe once Igot in my room. The room was clean and the free Internet access (fast)was very appreciated!. The staff, Henry, was very friendly and accomodating. Clean, free internet, friendly and helpful staff. The only issue i had was that the guesthouse stated on the website that it had 24 hr reception. I arrived at 7am (after emailing them to let them know this) and i woke up one of the staff members!. the elevator has an unpleasant smell and was too slow. people standing by the chungking mansions creates an impression that staying there will be unsafe.the room door only have normal room lock. At least must have a ring lock, we will felt more safety because the place got a lot of foreigner. I should have googled the Chungking Mansion before booking the room. Thebuilding has some 2000+ rooms and a variety of factories, restaurants,money changers, private residences, etc. Everytime I got to the buildingI would be harrassed from the time I entered the ground floor untilgetting into the elevator. To be honest, this is not the fault of thehotel though!. The bed was so high. Bad for the price I payed, but the politic of the owner is not fair. Sonever expect / believe that what you book you will get! Staff was veryfriendly and helpful anytime.i did not like the lift and the ground floor enviroment. The lift is small and slow, and the reception was closed when I left at 10am so I had to post the room keys under the door, not ideal.The shopping mall that the hotel was above , is a little and the toutersin the lobby can be a little much, but if you just want a basic room ata cheap price this place is clean and basic.... Keep in mind if you aretaller than 6 foot you will not fit in the beds... the pillow is not comfortable ,the room size is too small and the information is not clear that which picture is which room.no respect to their client since they change my room without me knowing it. The mansion look so wierd with all black hang arround.the room and bed is too small for 2 person, actually I looking for queen bed so me and husband can sleep together. not 2 single bed. There is a smell in the room. They did not even bother to clean up theroom or change the towels .. Only upon asking on my arrival, I have toask for towel, toilet rolls ....Felt cheated cause the photo shown is a comfy room with windows but what we get is like a jailed room without a window. It was an incredibly small room. They did not accept visa even though it said so on your website. Crowded and busy with pushy salesmen to get to and from the hostel elevator.room was very small, not so clean. Although the owner claims on Internet the reception is open 24/24, andalthough I warned twice I wouold be arriving late (flight delayed), Iwas met by grumpy staff who initially refused to check me in and eventhreatened to throw me out when I claimed my due!. We booked for a double bed but was offered a sigle bed room and have to pay for the extra bed. The bed is bit small and short. change the picture that you have put online...you put online a room that is totally different from the one we are staying in. I maked the reservation at 12th floor and than go to the hotel.Manager told me that 12th floor was full.I don't like it very much.Staff bring me to two rooms and suggest me to add money for better room.I feel so bored.and Never choose this hotel again. hotel's photo in the website is misleading. the facilities are very limited.No Laundry / Cooking / or communial facilities. I was not put on the floor or in the hostel that I booked as they own over 7 in the same building, and to be perfectly honest the whole time I was there I was worried about being potentially harrassed walking through the markets on the ground floor or by being broken in to as the place did not feel trustworthy. None of this is in their details. Why was my booking room changed to expensive room? It's no meaning booking to use your web.2 rooms were reserved, but upon arrival, we were told that one wasavailable and the other room would be at another hostel, which was fewfloors downstairs. Room pics shown did not coincide those in website.Regretted to book this hotel, or rather hostel. flase advertising!!!!!!!!!! the photo on website is nothing at all like the box we were given!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we asked for a double bed and were given 2 singles in a room the size of a small bathroom with tiled walls and 1 square metre of floor space and the toilet in the shower.....disgusting.

Important information to guests

Chungking Mansion is a large building with many hostels and 5 blocks. Please be aware that some people often stand in the street pretending to be our staff members, only to take you to a different place. Please do not show or give your booking information to any stranger.

Please print out your booking confirmation sheet and check-in with your name. We will have your name and confirmation number on a list of paper. When we have verified your name and number, you need to pay the entire cost of your stay. Then you can easily be checked in and get to your room.

Please contact our hostel immediately after you have arrived at Hong Kong International Airport to confirm your arrival and you will be directed to the easiest route to the hostel. When you arrive at the Hong Kong International Airport, before you collect your luggage, there are many free public phones you can use.

Information about the area

This hostel is located in the most convenient and prosperous district in Hong Kong - Tsim Sha Tsui, which is the central part of Hong Kong. Tsim Sha Tsui is just next to the Victoria Harbour. Tourists can enjoy the great sea views and the famous night scene of Hong Kong Island at the seaside. Nathan Road, known as the 'Golden Mile', is also nearby and is famous for its shops, arcades, boutiques, restaurants and fantastic nightlife.

By Plane (from Hong Kong Airport):
You can take the A21 Airport Shuttle Bus from 05:30 to 24:00 (runs every 10 minutes, 40-minute journey, costs HKD 33 per person). Get off at the 14th bus stop (Middle Road Station.

Alternatively, the Airport Express Train is available from 05:50 to 01:15 (runs every 12 minutes, 25-minute journey, costs HKD 90 per person). Get off at Kowloon Station and change to the free airport shuttle bus K3 to the Holiday Inn. From there, go along Nathan Road and turn left for Chungking Mansion.

Taxis run a 24-hour service (30-minute journey, costs HKD 300). Please tell the driver to stop at the Chungking Mansion, Tsim Sha Tsui.

By Train (from Mainland China):
The service from Shen Zhen runs from 06:30 to 24:00 every 5 minutes (45-minute journey, costs HKD 36.5 per person). Get off at the last station, East Tsim Sha Tsui (M2 exit).

From Beijing / Shanghai, take the train to Hung Hom (Kowloon) Station and then change to East Tsim Sha Tsui Station (M2 exit).

By Ferry:
Guangdong Road Pier is within 15 minutes walking distance of Chungking Mansion.

From Sheungwan Pier, take the MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui (C1 exit) from the station next to the pier.
