My husband and I absolutely loved Kastro. The view from our room was amazing and infact was a hot spot for people stopping to take pictures and watch the sunset, it was that well located. The room itself was huge, and the bath even bigger, I could lay down in there and stretch my arms out and still not touch the other side. We were lucky enough to have spa directly out front of our room which was fantastic to enjoy the view from. Location was great, close to everything. you could hear the donke.
all reviews » The hotel is a dream, so romantic. We had room next to the pool (small cold water Jacuzzi really) room 101. The room was quite big with a big shower and the bed on a separate mezzanine. The views from the room and the pool are out of this world and being next to the donkey trail you have the pleasure of seeing them walk by all day as well as to wake up to the sound of the bells each morning! The staff are absolutely fantastic, the bar/restaurant staff spoilt us rotten and the receptionist/owne. The master of the hotel is very kind , beautiful & helpful! The view of the room is excellent which facing the whole view of Agean sea , volcano & nearby the cable car and all main road ! Highly recommend to stay here! We love it very much and we love Santorini ! Should be stag here next time!. excellent location,close to the cable car entrance ,and the donkey taxi station.surrounding by shops,restaurants etc. breathtaking sea view. lovely and helpful staff, especially Anna in the reception ,she knows almost everything about Santorini. A great position close to transport and next to the cable car. Some previous reviews have mentioned the donkey track that goes beneath the windows of some rooms but we thought it was all part of the experience and wasn't a real issue. Eventhough there was a slight language barrier, the staffs were really helpful and always happy to help. The housekeeping do their job REALLY well! Everytime we went back to the room, the room was always spotless and tidy. Great location, very helpful staff & great size rooms. The view was amazing & would definitely stay there again. Loved the location close to everything and the view is spectacular. The hotel is good, but room and facility is very old. Don't follow google map, you will be lost. The bedroom was beautiful but the a.c. Was poor.Balcony was splendid. The only slight negative is that with the hotel being right in the centre of Fira you could hear some of the bars at night but it was never enough to keep us awake. Also the huge cruise ships pull in at the old port which is directly below the hotel, because of this there are massive queues to the cable car right outside the entrabce to the hotel which prove difficult to navigate sometimes! Really though these seem insignificant when staying in such a gorgeous place. Because it is locate at highest place of the mountain , very strong wind in May ! But you will still love it !. nothing. Limited choice for breakfast. Smell of donkey was really strong, we had to buy roomspray. Leaving :(. The cafe was poor breakfast was not included and room at 200 was expensive.
