i loved everything about the hotel, the staff were very curteous, helpful and nice. the interior was fabulously decorated and the room was very nice. it was an all together a great experience and the hotel is definitely my choice hotel whenever i go back to toulouse. and not to mention its great location. A wonderful building enhanced by the superb interior decor, a real tribute to the designer who has done a great job. The staff were out of this world from the front desk to the bedroom and restaurant staff, all extremely professional with that all important smile, well done to Hotel de l'Opera.
all reviews » The hotel exudes comfort and good taste. The rooms, esp. for France, are large and quiet. The staff is friendly and are well aware of what service means. On top of that the location is great; right on the main square. The grand style and opulence. The quality of everything including staff and furniture etc. The adjacent brasserie is excellent and vg value. The staff are very friendly yet old fashioned and courteous, perfect. Great location in the heart of the city, different from most hotels (very exotic decor , like an up market bordello!) Great bathroom. Two very good restaurants next door and lots more choice very nearby. We were upgraded from a tradition double to a suite. The room was excellent, even had a walk in wardrobe. Everything!!. Location. Position was very central. Toulouse is a magnificent city and will be even better when the massive public works are complete. Our visit was in late March and trying to find the way to the hotel was very difficult. We were in the city for two hours before we found the way to the Place de l'Opera, tiring but worth it in the end. The size of the toilet was just large enough for the door to close but no more. While a fine engineering solution, it was not up to the rest of the room. Basic double room was too small so we upgraded to the next level at E40 extra per night. Breakfast not included so 3 nights came to over 500 - bit expensive. Also terrible creaking of floorboards all morning and evening as the hotel is so old, which was annoying. The noise from the central air condition. Although we did not have this on in our room (Lulli) there was a vent above our room which must have vented the AC from other rooms. I found it very difficult to sleep. Other rooms may not have this problem. n/a. nothing. not well marked for drivers to find. No complaints, except no elevator and we had to carry our luggage up a long spiral staircase. Not a problem on check in since the bellman did the heavy work, but we checked out at 4 am and had to do it ourselves. Lift very hold, with lot of charme, but slow. Nothing. Nothing. Creaky floors. Rooms a little dark & car park is hard to find. Decor ( personal taste only) ceiling height in suite. Water pressure in shower. Using shower meant climbing into bath. Breakfast was too expensive. Not very easy to find hotel entrance but staff were very good once inside & most helpful. carpet on the fire escape. Nothing. Parking facility. The room air condition had troubles and did no work. You recommended us to keep open the window all night through. This situation made our impression very "poor". Very annoying to get to as city works being done so couldn't find it with a GPS as roads blocked. Needed local assistance. the room was very small and had stairs to the toliet for my 90 year old mother worried me <i did not think the pictures of the room very very accurate.
