The hotel is really good location to walk from as a base. The area was good. Whilst the hotel is not on the prettiest street, it's only a couple of streets away from lots of good restaurants, shops and cafés and is literally at the exit to the station. You cannot get lost. Because it's so central, there are always people wandering around too, so you feel safe. The room was great. The decor especially. It's all floral and matchy with the bedspread. all reviews » Fantastic location within easy walking distance to the Pompidou, Louvre, Notre Dame and all the restaurants and bars in the Latin Quarter. I was on my own, going out every night and felt perfectly safe walking the streets back late. The hotel is surrounded by cafes and bars perfect for breakfast or dinner if you werent up for straying too far after a full day of exploring the city. The staff were lovely even the poor night staff who had to come down from reception late every night to let me in. The location is excellent for walking to visit Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Pompidou and for walks along the Seine. Some of this is not very close by so for those who love to do long walks the location is excellent. There are many restaurants nearby and Starbucks for coffee and free wifi. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast offered because of other choices nearby. Staff was extremely pleasant to us. Liked our room with two huge windows that opened to the noise and activi. The location adjacent to Chatelet les Halles was most convenient - catch the rer train at cdg , go direct to Chatelet les Halles and walk 200 metres from the station Porte to the hotel. Very well located -adjacent to the Marais district and to Notre Dame, the Seine etc. The hotel, being situated in an old building is quirky, which adds to the charm.Our room was clean with a balcony looking out onto the staion area, redevelopment of clh and beyond to the church etc The staff were helpful with ou. I would recommend this hotel if I looked around and saw that thte price was right for the type of basic room it was. The location was excellent. A nice 10 - 15 min walk to Notre Dame and the river. Lots of shops and restaurant/cafes. Breakfast (for ~11 Euro) was reasonable. Overall, staff were pleasant and helpful. We opened the window and in the early evening could listen to live music. you can call the room small if you want but then I suggest you the Hilton, specially in Paris. For me the room was COSY, warm, clean and with very few but very nice furniture. Basic breakfast but I m not big fan of sausages and heavy staff...so for me was very good !. Loved the fact that the bed was sooo comfortable and the staff helped us in a very tricky suitation without any problem, we found it so close to all shops and trains. The walls are quite thin so I could hear people coming and going in the morning. The lack of air conditioning was a little disappointing but I was prepared for that before going. What was unfortunate was that building work was being done at the end of the road so having the window open made the room noisy but that's not the fault of the hotel and it is only a temporary problem. It certainly didn't ruin my stay. Hotel wifi was weak at times. Parking was expensive in the under ground parking. Appeared to be no air conditioning. I missed that in the description. The railing on the bottom floor coming up the spiral staircase was loose and needs to be repaired. It is a safety thing. The carpet on the staircase could be cleaned. One of the staff on night duty was not very helpful on the morning of our check out but that was the only complaint. Very small rooms with little amenities. Maybe it is what the Paris market is like - don't have a feel for that issue. Fairly basic cramped rooms. WiFi did not work in the rooms, worked ok in the reception/breakfast area. As they mention in the "Important Information" section; there is no elevator from the 1st floor. You must be prepared to carry your bags up one floor on small curving stairs. There is a very small elevator from reception. The only thing I could suggest is that while we were there we had no where to put our drinks so a small fridge would b handy :). There was no coffee making facilities, lift very small, used stairs instead we were on 3rd floor. Nothing, perfect for the price. Some people expect five star hotel for two star money. Walls are thin and floors are creaky Lively area means there is noise at night even after the bars close and the clean up begins - the windows keep all the noise out it can be loud if you like to have fresh air when you sleep. The space of the room is so limited!. Rooms are small, very noisy during the night due to the restaurants nearby; internet working fine only in the morning; No air conditioning; TINY lift. Spiral staircase to access reception, which can a a bit problematic with the luggage. the small rooms & bathroom - tiny little shower , impossible to wash your feet ... very small, glad I did not bring my cat as I would not have been albe to swing it in the room.
