This was by far the best hotel we stayed in on our trip. The staff werevery helpful. Breakfast was very good. Very good value for money. The hotel was clean and convienently located. easy 5 minute walk from train station. Hotel owner was very friendly.Staff is very friendly, helpful and flexible. Rooms were quite small and there were no tea/ coffee facilities, However, the staff were only too happy to provide us with a kettle and tea facilities when requested.Room was dated. The room was very small with no storage and a curtain in place of the ensuite door. It had just been renovated and very nicely done with quality materials but you could really only sleep in the room and need to spend your time outside exploring which was perfect for us - not suitable for travellers with a lot of luggage or for a stay of more than a couple of days.The soft furnishings are in dire need of updating to move it above a very average 2 star. Particularly carpets in hallways and rooms, poor lighting, questionable duvets. Staff are prone to be a bit moody and prescriptive. But overall you will have a pleasant stay if your expectations arent for cosseting 3 and 4 star hotels. A bit shabby first floor and staircase; upgrading them will give better first impression of the hotel. Room was too small for extra bed (couldn't shut bathroom door). Rooms were very small, but also a good value for the price.The room was tiny- there was no fridge so you had to always go out to eat and drink. Although the rooms were clean, the stars were dirty. But the hotel will be renovated soon, so probably this will be fixed soon.The hotel needs some updating (carpets, etc.) but is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. It was a little far from the beach and the old town, so you do need to be prepared to walk. I was annoyed that the hotel made me move rooms in the middle of my stay without really an explanation; they did move my bags for me, however. Breakfast was a bit expensive, but that is the nature of the area.If you like a superclean bathroom this place is not for you but thelocation is superb. Room very small. TV is fixed at top corner of the room. Watching it gives you neckache. Bathroom shower tray and surrounding tiles not very clean, Desparately needs updating/decoratiing.
