From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome by the staff , everybody was genuinely helpful . The hotel is a beautifully restored mansion and is a refuge from the crowded madness of Dubrovnik . Located a 20 minute bus ride from the Old City Pile Gate with a bus stop 100 metres from the hotel front door . I cannot praise Hotel Zagreb enough and my advice to anyone going to Dubrovnik is " Dont hesitate book Hotel Zagreb " , you will not be disappointed ! A real find in Dubrovnik , a city.
all reviews » Great location close to the sea and parkland. Bars and restaurants a few yards away and easy access to the old town by number 6 bus 50 metres from the front door. Extremely friendly and informative staff. Room 31, although at the top of the house has an amazing roof terrace, must be seen. Great value hotel and a great place to be based for a trip of any length to the stunning Dubrovnik. Beautiful hotel,staff were very friendly,lovely quiet area,lots of restaurants on your door step,Bus stop just round the corner to take you in too dubrovnic takes about 15 mins,Most of the time we just walked there,as the bus always was packed,take 40 mins to walk,but a nice walk,nice peaceful area,with a nice beach,hypermarket right next to hotel,would not hesitate to stay here again. The location, staff and the amenities were all excellent. I arrived before 0800 and my room was ready. I was also able to have breakfast which after an overnight ferry from Italy, was great. The grounds are beautiful. Breakfast was very good - fresh fruit salad and the croissants were always fresh, out of the oven. The staff really went out of there way for me during my whole stay. Location was fantastic, bus to old city was very close. Beautiful building and grounds. Staff extremely helpful and professional. Breakfast was very good. The dinner we had in the restaurant was exceptional, delicious, well presented food and attentive, professional staff - a real highlight of our stay and very reasonably priced. The hotel is on the beginning of a beautiful promenade full of restaurants and cafés to try, where you can go for a good stroll. Location perfect by an upmarket pedestrianised street of cafes and restaurants. 6 mins to beach. Also, one minute from no 6 bus into old town. Smart old building. Comfortable room. If you need QUIET, ask for garden side away from music bar. Staff excellent.will definitely go back. A lovely old building beautifully restored and maintained. Located on a popular street, with various other hotels, several restaurants, shops, cafes... and a beach at the end of the road. Comfortable bed. Breakfast acceptable, nothing special, though. Nothing to dislike we enjoyed our stay in Hotel Zagreb very much . I was in a ground floor room and, in order to access the internet, I had to go out to the lobby. It wasn't terrible but it was a bit inconvenient - the staff did warn me about this when I checked in and I was happy to have a ground floor room as there was no elevator. Nothing!. The only thing that annoyed me was that the wifi didn't work in the room (until the last day...), only at the reception, that gets a bit crowded at night. Found the breakfast disappointing, but our next hotel was exactly the same. Dont let this put you off - the place is great! Cold spread ok. Wasnt expecting hot food, but no matter how early we came to breakfast, the scrambled egg and bacon was congealed and had been around for ages under a hot container. I suggest either dont bother or cook it fresh to order. The pillows in our room were very uncomfortable. Wifi access was poor in our room but easily accessed in common areas. Unfortunately there is a club/disco right across the street from the hotel, playing really loud music, which makes it difficult to fall asleep. Nothing- we liked it all!. Hotel opposite a bar/ nightclub which had loud music till very late on the Thursday and Friday we were there. There were no facilities for tea or coffee outside of restaurant hours so we had to go out to find a cafe the afternoon we arrived. Music from bar opposite was a bit loud on Saturday night but no music on other nights. Night club nearby (a bit noisy), but no problem when windows are closed. Too short a stay. You have to take a bus to go to city center, sometimes there are a lot of people to take the bus because there are many hotels around, so you have to go standing all the trip. Smallest shower I ever tried to get my body into. My husband, once the soap was dropped, could not bend down to get it because there was no room to bend. Booked a twin room and it wasn't avail until the 2nd night. -no lift -no public lounge/drinks shop -no tea/coffee facilities in rooms. The very boring breakfast is what I didn't like. They need some imagination in their kitchen. The eggs were cold like they'd been made yesterday and absolutely no variety. They didn't even provide decent fruit which is the easiest of all. Very poor show. The rooms were not very soundproof, both from the hallway or adjacent plumbing noises. When you face the front, the noise from the club across the street is quite loud. The bus, while convenient to get to the Old Town, is quite busy, even in May when we were there. I can only imagine it being worse during high season. We would have travelled more to the center if the bus ride had been more appealing. for a hotel that has such much going for it they should pay a lot more attention to there food breakfast was poor and hot water was in short supply for tea/coffe evening meals not great and overpriced with proper managment they could keep their guest in hotel for meals after 10 oc ther is no bar available. The room was a bit compact. Shower didn't function properly. Room rather small. Nothing Everything was ok. Few vegetables for breakfast. The noise from the night club opposite of the hotel is tremendous and didn't let us sleep until the club closed. Be aware: sleeping befor 3 am is rather difficult/impossible even with closed windows. Very small and overbooked parking lot, no minibar, night noise from nearby clubbing area, bad TV reception. Room 33 smelt due to underneath shower tray not draining properly. We wer moved. Not having a pool. The showers a little on the small size. Would have like tea facilities in the room. No lift. No minibar. The breakfast was not good, the room's cleaness was poor too. Our bathroom smelled really bad (probably a problem in the sink) and our shower fall in us everytime we opened the water. Very noisy room if the windows overlook to the market (5.00 am). Needs a bit of fixing and deep cleaning.
