The service was excellent and the staff always pleasant and helpful. The view from the balcony was stunning. It sure made a break from rainy Dublin! Hotel Neptun is a perfect place to stay. The hotel is a few minutes drive from the bustle of the Old City and combines this with great beach and swimming facilities. It is also within a short walking distance of the excellent restaurant, Levenat.

Breakfast offered a great variety but the hot food tasted terrible, as it had been mostly overcooked. Just keep it continental and all will be well.Bed linen should be changed after 3 days. I did not particularly like the breakfast room. Quite big and at times very busy. If you want coffee, you depend on the waiters but they are not always in sight... Also, at times many tables were not cleared, not a nice start of the day. The buffet dinners were, as was drinks in the Reception Bar not valuefor money being the most expensive in Europe - shame because the varietywas good and so was the quality. Though did appreciate breakfast beingincluded in room cost and that was just another bonus.

Information about the area

Situated on the south of Croatia, Dubrovnik is considered to be the Pearl of the Adriatic coast. Rich in cultural and historical monuments, its old town (Stari Grad) was placed by Unesco on the World Heritage List in 1979. Dubrovnik's city walls were built in between the 7th and 13th century, and are still intact today. You can't beat the view of arguably the finest city walls in the world, and a walk along these walls will most likely be the highlight of your visit.
