This is easily the cleanest and nicest smelling place that we stayed in for our whole honeymoon. Ante is a great host, and provides excellent recommendations (listen to his advice on restaurants - we had our 3 best meals in Croatia in Dubrovnik because of it; and definitely consider the Dubrovnik card). The room was delightful with a beautiful balcony. The shared kitchen was incredibly well appointed and meant we were able to prepare our own breakfasts with ease. The whole house and garden/.
all reviews » The pension has excellent views with two of the double rooms with view on the actric sea. Arte, the owner is an excellent nice guy very friendly and helpful. He drove us up the mountain free of charge seeing the overview of Dubrovnik. The pension is homelike and warm. It takes about 20 mins to walk down the old town and castle but must take a bus back to the pension. Arte drove us to catch the bus away from the place free of charge. Excellent. Highly recommended. We stayed in this hostel for two nights. The host Ante pick us up at bus station. He also give us a tour to the mountain near the cable car station and told us the story of Dubrovnik . The house was so nice and cosy. The pictures, the flowers and other decoration ...we could see every effort he paid for the guests. After back from the busy old town , we had dinner calmly at the terrace during sunset with wonderful view . Highly recommend !. We stayed in the twin room, which was nice as it had its own bathroom and shower. The location of the Guesthouse is probably not within walking distance of the Old Town where everything is (would be 30 mins), but it's a quick bus ride, and the owner Ante even gave us a ride on our first night. He also went through and explained how to get anywhere on buses and good restaurants in the area. Would stay here again. Ante was beyond amazing! He was so gracious, helpful, informative, friendly, and polite and was just all-around a really great guy. The house was adorable, with a beautiful terrace and view of the water. The rooms were spacious and everything was immaculately clean. The guesthouse wasn't as close to city center as we were hoping but Ante's warm hospitality and helpfulness made up for that 10 times over. The owner was the kindest person I have ever seen during Croatia trip. You can get every advice regarding the Dubrovnik and around - how to get there, where to go, where to eat, what to do, etc. The house and room was very cosy and clean. The kitchen was also very nice. There were some rooms with nice view balcony. There was a small mart right next to the house. Also, I could easily go to Old City by bus. It is really a cozy house with an wonderful treatment. Ante is almost a guide even if with lots of things to do. He got us at the bus station three times and also showed us al the best things to do and where to go without spending much money. He also tooked us to the top of the mountain where the cable car stops and for free. Had an wonderful time at Dubrovnik and I recoment 100% this Guesthouse. Our stay with Ante at S & L was superb. The accommodation was spotless and the view breathtaking. Ante went beyond expectation to ensure we were well informed of the area and beyond and picked us up from airport and drove us to numerous site seeing places and nothing was too much trouble. Would strongly recommend S & L to prospective travellers. We will definitely stay there again. Ante, our host, could not have been more helpful. He delivered us to/from the airport and arranged laundry for us in the middle of a long trip. The guesthouse has great views and is in a quieter section of Dubrovnik, a bit removed from the madding crowd. Once you've mastered the local bus, it is easy to get around. Definitely coming back on next trip to Dubrovnik. Ante, the owner, was very helpful. He was keen to show the sites of dubrovnik, and even took me on a scooter ride up the mountain overlooking the town. The room and shared bathroom were very clean and the bed was comfortable. The old town was easy to access from the guesthouse, with lots of buses that can be caught, and not too long a walk if you feel like walking. The owner was extremely helpful and well organised. The welcome was warm. The room and extra facilities (kitchen, internet computer and printer etc. were excellent and we had a lovely view across the harbour. Nice quiet neighbourhood meant we could relax and rest. Good links into old and new Dubrovnik. We loved it. Would recommend, without any reservation. Ante is amazing, really makes you feel welcome and has lots of great advice. We stayed here after 2 days in old town to escape the crowds. However, it is a very easy and short bus trip to reach the town. Ante will even offer to take you when possible in the morning or evening. There is a great shared kitchen area to use with supermarkets close by. we really like this B&B. The situation is good and just a 10-15mins. bus travel. The place is very clean, may be cleaner than my Home !!! i will have no hesitation in recommending this BnB to my friends. Ante the owner is a wonderful host and went out of his way to make us feel at home! He even drove us up the mountain, gave us a lot of info regarding the city, the war and a lot more. Ante the owner was incredibly helpful-showed us around the town, collected us from the bus stop, dropped us back at 6am, and when I left my bag in the car, he dropped back down to give it to me before my bus departed. Ante our host was fantastic - he collected us from the bus station and helped us with transport etc the room was very good with great views very clean great value common kitchen and lounge getting to old town was easy bakery nearby supermarket nearby. The owner (Ante) was fantastic. He collected us from bus station, carried bags, brought an icecream for me, gave me a lift into town, returned to bus station next day. Amazing service: He's a VERY helpful, reliable, friendly chap. I highly recommend staying at this place if you go to Dubrovnik. I can not find any bad point with it. The owner Ante Tolic was super hospitable and went beyond expectations. Guesthouse is clean. Ante was a brIlliant host, very friendly and helpful, we felt very looked after. The staff, the location, the breakfast. Great staff, extremely clean. Our host was excellent and extremely helpful. He is one of those "bigger than life" characters and has a passion for people. We stayed only for one night and that was a mistake. I misjudged Dubrovnik for the Old Town it is known for, but it turned out quite a fascinating destination with lots of activities and ventures to offer. Driving to the airport I realised that there was the most beautiful beaches alongside the coast line and the place is tourist friendly. Ante is incredibly generous with lifts, but you will need to get the bus to get around and there are quite a few steps if you have any mobility problems (we didn't but is worth mentioning). I think the double rooms have nice terraces with great views, but the twin room definitely did not have a panaromic view as described in the title. Nothing. None. You have to walk a little or get the bus that passes all the time to go to the walls !. Nothing we did not like. The location well up the side of the hill may not suit some but had good bus links and Ante (owner) was very happy to collect and drop us off at the bus station on arrival and departure with our bags. Not at all. Twin room with private bath was tiny--hardly room to move around. Location is not walkable from Old Town. a litte bit far from the Old Town City, but it doesn't matter at all. Best access by bus or you can just walk and reach there in 15minutes. The room was smaller than what I anticipated but then I am from South- Africa and space is very available to everyone there because we do not have these beautiful Old Towns that you have in Europe.
