The apartment were we stayed was really close to the Old Town (around 300 mts). The owner (Nikola) and her mom are really nice people that wants to help you in everything they can. Try the bread store that is just at the end of the stairs, is amazing!. 5 minutes walking from the old town. All the staff REALLY kind and concerned about their guests. Very nice apartment furnished with everything you need if you want to save some money.
