Hotel is situated in short foot walk distance to Century Ave metro station (Exit #12) so all Shanghai is easily reachable by cheap priced metro. Staff is very friendly and helpful and speaks well English. Room is clean, beds were very comfortable and minibar was filled up every day. Really a good place to stay. Excellent facilities, Superb location & warm hospitality. Moreover, Break-fast for a vegetarian like me has pretty wide range of choice. Have been staying in past & will always try & stay @ Purple Mountain always.
all reviews » The location is convenient and accessible. Not matter by taxi or Metro Lines. The room is of a high standard. Besides, I was upgraded to the executive room at highest floor and the view is beautiful. Great location to multiple Metro lines means nothing is far away including airport. Only two stops to the Bund and city centre. Great access to all of Shangai without high accommodation costs. Purple Mountain is located near many restaurants and a Metro stop on the major east-west line. The facilities, staff and service are definitely 5 star quality at a reasonable price. Very good location. In neighbourhood of plenty of fantastic restaurants! A nice and convenient place to stay in Shanghai. Thanks to John manager of concierge - a geat person!!!!. There is nothing that I don't like about Purple Mountain. Nothing. No complaints. No disappointments. The swimmingpool was closed at the end of May. They are opening at the beggining of June.. Nothing. I asked when booking if the pool would be open during my stay and was informed it would be. However, when we arrived we were told that the pool had closed the day before we arrived. The staff wouldn't open it even though the weather was still very sunny, humid and hot. It just seemed very arbitrary to me. The main reason I booked was for the pool. It was very disappointing. The room was a bit too small. The receptionists could not help us to book some bus tickets. No space to put my clothes so I had to operate out of the suitcase. Breakfast buffee is "ok", but perhaps not on the same level as everything else. Price of the breakfast really too expensive. Just In front of the hotel there are Costa and Starbucks where you can have your breakfast. The bar-backery in the loby. Location was not the greatest but this was my choice. Size of the room was smaller and the way it was stuffed made difficult to move around in the room. House keeping poor. No care in executive club lounge for vegetarian . executive lounge. The hotel is already really old and there are other newer nearby. It is expensive for its age and not so central in downtown. staff must understand better eglish.
