One or two reception staff spoke English and were very helpful The hotel location is excellent-10 minute walk to Nanking road The daily room rate offers very good value Breakfasts were a good range of western and chinese cusine Cleaning staff were very polite and helpful The business centre provided free internet access. Great location, close to People's Square and Nanjing Road (about 8 minutes walk), and very close to Xinzha Road metro station (4 minutes walk). It's really value for money Actually I recommend this hotel to anyone going to Shanghai, I would stay there again.
all reviews » I always stay in this hotel. This time everything was perfect. It depends of stuff sometimes you have very good guys befind the desk sometimes opposite very impolite people. Staff was very efficient and could speak english decently well. Location of hotel was near the hub of all the shopping areas and accessible from 2 train station. The designer room had a nice city view and the location is close to the subway train station. The location, close to the metro system and within walking distance of some main attractions. Awesome location, near People's Square, and very close to Xinzha road metro station (Line 1). location staff knowledge and hospitality view of the upper floors to the river. The rooms needs some upgrading, for eg some of the power points were coming off. They allow the pimps to throw their business calling cards under my door everyday. The room could have been a bit cleaner, the was stuff under the bed from previous occupants of the room. But it wasn't that bad!. poor internet connection. Not dirty but not very clean as well. Surrounding area is not nice. Very thin walls and doors so difficult to sleep if someone is around. Breakfast for a Vegetarian person was inadequate, hardly any choices. The hotel is a little bit old, needs a little bit of renovation. The cleniness was all in all ok, but the carpets and corners need a bit more attention. The safe box is not safe. room was not properly cleaned when we first stepped into it. I had to insist on a twin non- smoking room when told we would have to spend the first night in a double smoking room. I also insisted that a superior room should have a window. Eventually we were given an acceptable room. We expected to have a room with a balcony as booked as my sister smokes & I dont.She had to stand outside on street. The beds obviously hadn't been hoovered under for years.The dust was inches thick . Coffee shop & bar were closed also. letsbookhotel.com's superior double room does not translate into a double bed room. I had to argue with staff to get the double bed room. Staff indicated this is a common error for those who book through letsbookhotel.com. If true, it needs to be remedied. Small room,. Refregirator was unavailible during 2 days, there wasn't safe box in the room. In conclusion, the hotel is well enough for a short time period stay with a fair price quality proportion. Staff were struggling with basic English. -The hotel took more money than it was announced on letsbookhotel.com - dirty hotel, dirty toilets, hair everywhere - good location, but you have to pass a couple of minutes through dark street before you are on the central street. 1- not safe 2- we have been robbed beside hotel 3-give strange people our real names and nationality to known call 4-The entrance of hotel looks so scary in behind back small street .
