Location is very good, hotel is about 300m from the subway station. If you purpose to stay near the shopping and walking areas this hotel is a perfect place. Hotel room was clean and cozy in minimalistic style. Breakfast offers in a cafe and contain about 10 different options. Portions is fine, but if you are a fan of the buffet, you could be slightly dissapointed. There is a good local network cafe Wagas near the hotel where there is western food and good coffee for China. Check in and check.
all reviews » The hotel is one of the better one in shanghai for the money. Staff try very hard to make your stay enjoyable. While English is poor from some of the staff we managed to work out what I wanted. I had the bellboys get cabs for me in the pouring rain and did it with a smile. There are two restaurants in the building that are both very good quality but I would have to say the element fresh was very good value for money and the food was fantastic. Great hotel and would stay there again. Very large and modern studio, fully equipped and clean, nice balcony. The hotel prouds itself of the quality of the air inside the complex and it is totally true, you actually walk in to catch a breath from the outside smog! The breakfast vouchers make for a very flexible and enjoyable option, food was excellent and you can dine outside when the weather is good. The pool looked pretty inviting but there wasn't time to try it. Location! Close to all the major spots-must-see in Shanghai Comfortable bed, good design of the room-siple yet very comfy, the kitchen has everything for cooking, a microwave as well, washing machine and an iron are also great points. Nice Greek restaurant on the 6th floor - good kitchen, even though you are in China, great view. Great gym, very modern, open 24 hrs great swimming pool 7 am - 10 pm. Excellent location, walking distance from key tourist spots, good restaurants in all categories and metro-stations; efficient check-in/check out; spacious apartment/bathroom/showerfacilities; very quick response for small repair (5 mins!); also when wireless was not reliable, internet cable was provided in our room; good restaurant/sports facilities in same building on 6th floor. The staff was really nice and always smiling. Something as been broken in our bathroom (not our false) they immediatly showed us 3other different room and ask us to choose the one we like the most. The room was really clean and they even have a internal water cleaning system in the building wich make the tap water drinking ! Very good hotel for young couple or family. Event the pool was under renovation, they made it up to make my stay better. The gym is great in this very new place. The rooms are big, well designed and with all the conforts of an apartment. Much better that other more expensive hotels in town. 2 Restaurants: 1) decent a la card breakfast and 2) Greek with great prices and high quality food. The 2 bedroom suite was lovely and very clean. The staff was excellent. The balcony overlooked the street market, where you could smell the foods waft up. Easy walking distance of the Cloud Temple, the street market called the Yuyuan Market which had more interesting items than the other markets and within walking distance of the Bund. I quite enjoyed the whole hotel. It looks clean and modern, the staff is friendly upon checking, and there was no issue getting around shanghai since you are very close to the places of interest. The rooms were quiet (but then again, maybe there was nobody in the room next to me), spacious, and even have a nice view of the city. Cleaning service was excellent - very efficient. Clean and comfortable, new appliances etc, nothing had been used. Helpful concierge - organised a taxi for me because I don't speak Chinese, front desk staff speak English which is also a bonus. Excellent central location - can walk to Bund, Nanjing Rd, Yu Gardens etc. The location is very convenient and the staff are really helpful. The room is very spacious and clean. Interior design is rather modest but the room is well equipped with all the necessities. There's a good selection of breakfast. I think this hotel offers great value for money and I will definitely stay here again. I liked the view from the balcony, the spacious room/apartments, the comfort of the rooms, the fatc that the bathroom had both bathtub and shower separately, the lights in the bedroom. The location of the hotel is excellent being close to metro, Huaihai shopping street, former French Concession. Very good Chinese food at the hotel's restaurant (I've tried three different dinner options, all were good). If you are into congee, do get it for breakfast: it was the best congee I ever had! There are also decent restaurants across the road, and two coffee shops on the way to Metro. Perfect ubication, ideal for business stay, good service and very helpful staff. Nice rooms newly refurbished, with balconies and kitchenette, I had a very pleasant and confortable stay. Food at the greek resto The Fat Olive at the 6 floor is great and the can deliver it to your room. We stayed there 2 years ago and was impressed. This time we felt even better because they have just refurbished the whole place. It was a nice touch to put the coffee machine in the lobby for people to enjoy while awaiting. So nice to have individual washing mashing in the room too. I have reserved a studio suite and the living room is spacious. Toilet is large and beds are large as well. Nice kitchen although we have not used it. Got a small balcony facing the inner podium of the hotel. Breakfast is nice and free wifi. Very clean and staff are helpful. My request for a room with an unblocked view and away from the main road was granted as we were told that we had an upgrade. There were a number of local eateries near the hotel. location, accommodations,value for the money, spectacular views, balcony, washer in the room, comfortable bathroom, plenty storage space, comfortable bed and linens, roof-top patio, nice lounge serving coffee and cookies around the clock, clean, inviting, feels like home. My husband and I liked the perfect location to explore Shanghai. We stayed in an appartment style room with bedroom, bathroom and separate living area and kitchenette. All very modern and beautiful. The location was great, we walked to all the major locations. The rooms were nice and clean. They had modern fixtures and it was very convenient to have a full kitchen and washer and dryer. The room was beautiful and full of everything you could need for a long stay: complete kitchenette, iron and board, etc. The bed was super comfy and the décor was trendy. Clean with friendly helpful staff in a convenient location. Washing machine was not advertised and was great to have. Should put in the description. Good value. Room is clean and comfortable, size is quite big either one BR or 2 BR type with full functioning of kitchenette. Breakfast at 6th floor is also superb. Room was spacious, newly renovated, comfortable, minimalist design yet tastefully done. Good central location just a short walk away from metro station. Air conditioner in the room was quite noisy. I was over charged for one night but it was fixed up later. Staff attitude could be improved, as well as the sound proofing of the guest rooms. We had some technical issue with the electricity in our room and that was annoying, although the staff was always available when contacted. The rooms are not soundproof!!! During the day you can hear the construction nearby, at night - crazy taxi horns and your neighbourghs!!! Breakfast was included, but the quality is not up to the level of the hotel The reception staff was not very helpful when it came to explaining some things about the surroundings. Housekeeping also not up to the hotel standards. Small misunderstandings/delays in restaurants due to language difficulties. Not that much good foreigner channel and the wifi sometimes was poor.... but its Chinese internet u know :D. The Pool was under renovation and I was not told about this. 'Fresh' cafe - disappointed with the breakfasts served - nothing special, more care needs to be taken with the appearance of the meal. I couldn't connect to free wi-fi in the cafe, not sure why and in the end, I didn't worry about it. None. Sometimes there was an odd smell in the bathroom coming from the pipes which was persistent. The bathroom light was a bit inconvenient for makeup. The horrible coffee from Element Fresh! Free breakfast and they can also bring it to your room, but the quality needs to be improved!!. No tea bags or coffee in the room which is odd for a suite with kitchen. Cleansing staff replaced our towels everyday although we have hanged them up on racks. On one night there was a private party at their restaurant on 6/F but noise could be heard from 20/F. Hotel staff only intervened after many complaints were received after 1am. There was no bottled water in the fridge when we arrived and at the end of the first day, we came back to an unmade room. The housekeeping staff was cheerful enough to come in to do some quick vacuuming when we rang to enquire, and also supplied us with bottled water. Although we were prepared to re-use our towels and hung them on the rails, housekeeping staff seems oblivious of the green policy and gave us fresh ones everyday. modest selection of breakfast dishes, coffee non-refillable, too frequent checks by housekeeping staff, front desk staff eager to help, but seemed unfamiliar with the city, its geography and places of interest. Do not rely on them as an expert concierge service. We stayed on the 24 th floor, it was quite noisy at night ( traffic). However this was not a problem for us. The breakfast it's really small. Only one plate. Swimming pool locker room inadequate. The fact that they charged my card with a deposit then cancelled it incurring bank charges. All other hotels just held the deposit without putting it through. money exchange is not available at front desk where it is not support foreigner like me.. For breakfast, you've got to eat at Element Fresh which locates in the same building. Not many choices on the offer. We only got one breakfast voucher for the 2 of us for our staty which was a bit strange but still helped from a cost point of view. The in-house spa was very pricey and the staff were unable to speak much English. They weren't too enthusiastic about the facial treatment we were interested in but seemed very keen to get us to buy a more expensive package. In the end, we walked off without buying anything. Front desk staff were generally unfriendly with one exception, but that could be because they were uncomfortable speaking English. They could however have been more generous with their smiles!. No massage service in the room for male !. Breakfast is not good. Better have a buffet. Their Breakfast was very bad and poor with boring menu. We are sure all guests will complaint included us. The swimming facilities can be alot better. I would hope the staff can offer plastic bags for customer to keep away their wet swim suits. - terrible internet connection (go to the ´fat olive´ restaurant on the 6th floor. They have good connection). The terrible connection in my room drove me nuts. - no room service outside restaurant opening hours. the staff is a bit on the cold side. Maybe it is a service apartment, the service standard is not up to hotel level. In-between two railiway stations, 10-15 minutes walk. The rooms were newly renovated, which was nice in once way. But they had not "worked out the bugs". The electrical panel buzzed, the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor, and I could not find a way to turn off the lighting in the media centre console. Staff were helpful, but three issues is too many. The choice of TV stations was poor for english speaking. Also, the wifi was quite slow so I did struggle to connect to most things. Breakfast would have been better as a buffet or staff could have been more flexible with choices of drinks to accompany meals. The breakfast was poor. The bed was too big for the room size. None during our stay. Daily housekeeping should include vacuuming of apartment - hairs and dust were left on the floor from the first day we checked in. Breakfast menu can be more flexible.
